Wonderful image Erez. Thanks so much for sharing your process. A great capture and skillful use of tools to achieve your vision. A great companion piece to Spot the Shark!
A big shout out for PTGUI. I have been using it for at least eight years, and Panorama Tools before that. I find that it just keeps getting better and more amazing every year.
"The tripod mount is slightly offset from the lens axis. On the left is the latch for the sealed batter compartment."Would that be waffle batter or pancake batter? ;-)
I have been following this for some time and am excited to see what Lytro releases and how it progresses. Having used DSLRs since their infancy, I think Ng's forecast that the growth in sophistication and power of both Lytro files and tools to work with them will be like the growth for raw files and tools is probably very fair.
I got on the waiting list some time ago, and very much looking forward to see what Lytro releases. Wish I had it for my upcoming hiking trip to the Pacific Northwest!
While a Lytro image's focus may not be as tack sharp as the photo of Mr. Ng at the head of this article, I think that is simply a matter of time. The code jockey in me is fascinated by the whole concept and the photographer just wants to have fun.
Good luck Mr Ng!
