Placed 4th in the challenge. A sunset shot I took of the Annisquam beach with the Lighthouse and beautiful boulders. I was driving by this area when I noticed the beautiful sunset and the sky. I new the location before and drove up and barely had enough time to get this shot before it all went dark.

Placed 21st in the challenge. Macro shot using Nikon D7000 and a Tamron 60mm F2 Macro at my cousin's backyard. I think I used a polarizing filter to get a bit saturation.

Placed 1st in the challenge. I took this shot from the valley view location at Yosemite National Park. The sun was rising over the mountains and was lighting up the granite cliffs in glorious golden light.

Placed 51st in the challenge. I took this capture at the San Diego Zoo. I have always wanted to capture flamingos because of their interesting body shape but they are a bit difficult to frame properly due to their size and the fact that they rarely stay still. But this time I waited patiently hiding and as people started to thin out the birds kind of relaxed and started moving around and this one gave me a perfect framing opportunity which lasted for maybe couple of seconds...

Placed 58th in the challenge. I took this capture while at the Franklin park zoo in Boston, MA. There was a quote by an Indian revolutionary Bhagat Singh that "by crushing individuals, they cannot kill ideas". everytime I see this picture it reminds me of how important freedom in anyone's life be it an animal or human.

Placed 3rd in the challenge. A windswept Monterey Cypress Tree from the Point Reyes seashore near San Francisco CA. This being the windiest point in the Pacific Coast only cypress trees grow here as they can withstand the extreme wind and constant salt spray and fog.
