This is the first time that I've got round to making a composite panorama with the X-E1.
I used the XF 60/2.4 and mounted the camera on my tripod vertically using a Camdapter "Manfrotto"...

The one below is the only crop in which I can discern a visible difference in resolution (favouring the camera on the right, whichever it is).
But overall, I agree, for most intents and purposes...

...as I prefer fixed focal length ("prime") lenses.
But, I enjoy working slowly and deliberately, and have little use for the "convenience factor" offered by zooms.
I also seek lenses that allow me...

Having shot a lot of slide film myself (and thoroughly enjoyed doing so), I agree 100% with bowportes here.

Well, I am not German, but I too find the in-camera Velvia rendition preferable (albeit not ideal).
To me, shadows are meant to be darker than midtones, which in turn should be darker than...

It is a good lens, light and portable, and built to a standard way beyond most (all?) modern AF lenses.
At f/5.6 the contrast is slightly reduced (probably due to some residual spherical...

X-E1 + AI-S 180/2.8 ED. 1/2000s @ f/2.8, ISO 800, DR = 400, Film Simulation = Neg-H
I'm glad I kept this particular lens when I decided to switch from the S5Pro to the X-side of Fuji ;-)

Nice picture.
However, if it was "shot RAW and processed in LR5", then those are not really "Fuji colors", but "Lightroom colors".

I am actually quite satisfied with my X-E1 and can live with its quirks, but I DEFINITELY AGREE WITH YOU on the "Digital FM"!

Cool! I saw the Lights in Iceland two years ago and they were awesome

Based on what Fuji have been delivering so far, I'm sure both will be very good (especially the 56, which looks like some sort of "statement" product".
However, I think I'll just keep my 14...

Nice images there, and true, the 200/4 is a nice lens.
Having said that, the 180/2.8 ED is visibly better at all comparable apertures (better contrast, better resolution, less CA).

Hi, I totally relate to what you say here.
I tried a number of AI-S lenses, including two of the ones that you mention (50/1.2 and 180/2.8 ED), and I can offer the following insight:
EXCELLENT...

Thanks Mark, I appreciate your kind words.
No need to be sorry - I really liked my S5Pro too while I had it and used it, but now I just felt it was time for me to move on.
Specifically, to try and...

After several years of honourable service, my S5Pro has now been officially replaced by my new X-E1.
I sold it well on E-bay, and hope that it will continue to give satisfaction in its new owner's...

My first foray in the Fuji "X" world was with the X20 too, so I know where you're coming from here.
When I then decided to get the X-E1 too, I made the choice to forgo zoom lenses and just go for...
