Incredibly sad that there isn't some organization that would want these images. They need to be saved, preserved, gone through, and edited. We're all like Dee, we don't make notes on our slides...

I have been on dpreview since 2001, and have noticed the Canon bias since then. It's sad, but I am sure dpreview gets some sort of kick-back from Canon for it. That being said, the review also...

I love this lens. It's permanently mounted to one of my V1's. The other one has either the 10-30mm, the 30-110mm, or the 18.5mm. The 10mm is nice when I want a super compact camera that I can put...

Wrong, dpreview. Your Canon bias is showing. The Nikon Coolpix P7700 is a direct descendant of the Nikon Coolpix 990 introduced January 27, 2000. It was the top of the line of the Coolpix models,...

Same with me. Battery is showing a '3' in life. Had it less than 6 months, charged only about 6-8 times. If it fails I will open a case with Nikon for warranty replacement.

Actually the V1 arrives with AE lock on the shutter button disabled. I decided to enable it, because I like to have more control over the exposure. Sometimes the camera wants to over expose a...

I stopped using Active D-Lighting years ago when I found out it underexposes your image, which adds noise in the shadows. It is much better to shoot raw and bracket if you need extra dynamic range.

I think you might like THIS grip for your V1. I have one and I love it, feels like it was meant to be on the camera. They also make a lot of different lens adapters for the Nikon 1 mount.

The battery that came with my V1 last December is showing it is nearing end of life. I wonder how does one send a battery back to Nikon for replacement??

Well in low light, you have VR in both lenses, right? The 18.5 has no VR, so you have to have a very steady hand to hold it still enough!! That being said, the 18.5 is a sharp little sucker, and I...

True but only if the light is dim enough to shoot at a high shutter speed. I tried to shoot through a chain link fence today with my F3, but at f2.0 the shutter speed required was more than the top...

I liked my new V1 so much, I bought a second kit a few weeks later! The first one was the kit for $299, the second one was a refurbished kit for the same price. What an incredible bargain!
This...

Almost forgot my 35mm PC-Nikkor f2.8! That thing doesn't get used much, but for shooting architecture, it's the best. Sharp as a tack too. Bought for $250 and sold my Nikon 35mm f2 AI for $250 to...

My Nikon 28-105mm 3.5-4.5 IF zoom. Bought it new in October, 2000, and it's still as good with my D700 as it was then with my N70. My Nikon 105mm f2.5 K with the factory AI ring installed....

$899 no way. That is a joke. Sorry Nikon, I'll just throw a 35mm f1.4 on and call it good.

I too like the look of my X100 images. I don't feel the need to upgrade to the X100S at all, I've past the point where more pixels=better image quality, because it isn't always the case. Image...

I travel with my D700, Nikon 28-105mm, Nikon 50mm 1.8, and Tamron 17-35mm lenses. I usually carry all of them with me in my bag. This year I am considering to leave the Tamron at home and just...

True the P7700 isn't close to the V1 in terms of image quality, it is better at ISO 100 in my experience. However, the delay between pressing the shutter and taking the photo on the P7700 is...

This is typical for super-zooms. That review is for the old 10-100mm with power zoom, but the new smaller one will most likely be worse....

I have two V1 bodies, and the 6.7-13mm, 10mm, 10-30mm, 18.5mm, and 30-110mm lenses. I also have the FT-1 adapter. I'm planning to bring both bodies and all lenses with me. They are so small and...
