What does the "Phase Detection AF Area" option in setup really do? I can't seem to find a difference in speed nor does the overly seem to "work" or be interactive in any way. What am i missing?  5R

Noise and "blurry" are not the same thing. Use google and check or these forums. He was wondering why the OP was worried about noise when the pictures were taken at 100 iso.

Why would you want auto in manual mode?
It's called manual mode for a reason, and any "manual" mode that does have it is actually not a manual mode.
