About me:

Learn how to use and minipulate my cameras (C-2100, C-5050, C-8080, E-300, E-1 and LX3). I use to be an active hobbyist using a Canon AE-1. I plan to use the camera every other day and have at least one photograph per week I am satisfied with.

  • Replied in XPro-1
Sounds like you are ebaying. I waited for a $450 XPro to appear on craigslist with no joy. I troll the national & local brick & mortar camera stores for Xpros. On small store Saturday I scored an ...
  • Replied in 35mm f1.4 Lens
This lens was purchased specifically to live on my XPro. I love the 50mm equivalent fov point of view. It compliments the 27 f2.0 on the X100S. Life is good. Marty
  • Doesn't sound like your Christmas present is going to be much of a surprise. It will be exactly what you want. I bought mine used from a local brick & mortar store along with the 35mm lens. Took it ...
  • What is the point of this image? Nothing catches my attention or interest. Are we supposed to contemplate what he is looking at? There is no story. There is no interesting facial expressions. There ...
  • 28, 35, and 50mm are the most common focal lengths used for street. I like the 50mm fov. It is the fov closest to that of eye. HCB used this focal length the most. When using my Panasonic or ...
  • Replied in X-Pro1 Ver.3.4
I have never figured out how to download firmware updates for any camera I own. Went to Glazer's in Seattle today and had the Fuji rep download v 3.4. I asked the Olympus rep to upgrade the ...
  • I do not use flash for my street work and don't like the look of it. Go to Youtube and look at Bruce Gilden. He is a magnum photographer that uses flash. I don't like the surprised look and washed ...
  • I just picked up this lens used from B&H. Expect it to arrive tomorrow. Have the 18-55 and 35 lenses too. Besides the free play, anything else I should be aware of with this lens? Martin
  • Replied in Consider X30
One reason to purchase the X100S/T is the size. Others have commented on this and the alternative to get an interchangeable body. If you want to stay with Fuji and have a variable lens the body to ...
  • The crux to your answer is what focal length do you like? For me, my favorite lens is the Panny 25. It is small and sharp. The 25mm has the 50mm equivalent FOV in full frame terms. That is what the ...
  • Title line says it all. Surprised nobody else suggested the GH3 for your b-cam. It has the best video input control set of any cams mentioned. Video output is very good too. Amazon is selling new ...
  • Replied in Go With The Flow
You have received excellent advice. To recap. Keep your lenses until you see how much you use the zoom lens and at what focal lengths.. Be aware your primes are lighter and at least one stop faster ...
  • I just purchased an Xpro1 and 35mm lens Saturday. Both with a very nice price. Took them out to play in the dark Sunday & Monday. I also have an X100S. Love the 100s and getting use to the shutter ...
  • Replied in Goodbye EPM2
Dear Dennis: Sorry for your loss. Though elegantly expressed, you are writing about a machine. It isn't dead. You have one and are using it. That is a blessing. Maybe the price will come down and ...
  • I was at the Kenmore camera Digital Photo Expo today and attended a workshop taught by Bobbi Lane, a Fuji sponsored photographer. She stated Fuji is shortly coming out with a new 55mm lens. They ...
  • Never knew Fuji has a magazine. Is it fully of Fuji porn?
  • I wish I was able to purchase Ryan's 100S for $600. When will the X100T hit the market? That is when I expect the X100S to drop in value. Who much I haven't a clue. Not seeing Seattle craigslist ...
  • As Ryan says, it is an expensive hobby. One way to rationalize your expense is to look as it an investment in fun & exploration. Divide that over the many years of enjoyment and use. It hurts only ...
  • Nice captures. 1st one for me. I love the way you captured the eye on her tee shirt looing up on that frame. Marty Street Photographer & Psychiatric Nurse
  • I have an 100S and XE1 with the it lens. I shoot mostly street. Do you thin it is worth the $500 for the extra f stop of should I continue to shave for the 56t for portraits? Marty Street ...
