About me:

Learn how to use and minipulate my cameras (C-2100, C-5050, C-8080, E-300, E-1 and LX3). I use to be an active hobbyist using a Canon AE-1. I plan to use the camera every other day and have at least one photograph per week I am satisfied with.

  • I too like this image. Nice light on the woman. I like that her face is framed by the confetti. You caught the moment. Marty
  • I prefer the 2nd image. The mime's eyes make the photo. Good job. I like that you took more than one image. Frequently I capture only one image and then I'm off. I need to work the image more by ...
  • The 1st thing to remember is your motivation. Have fun. You can't do it wrong. Don't know what the law is in the country you are going to. I prefer to be discrete. I try to blend into the ...
  • The old saw as to whicj is the best camera is the one you have. As stated before, the equiptment is not important. Any camera will do street photography. That does not address the OP's question. As ...
  • According to the DPreveiw preview, Olympus is taking a Fuji point of view. They stated that nothing will change radically. Same sensor. Probably a new engine though. It seems Olympus simply refined ...
  • X-Pro works for street photography. It works for portraits. it works for landscape. It works for architecture. Except for things that move vary fast, it works. As Giovanni_1968 suggested, the price ...
  • This is going to be fun so you gotta be there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAJkSj3Aw1Y LUMIX Luminary Team members Giulio Sciorio and “PhotoJoseph” Linaschke will present a series of workshops ...
  • Good News. You don't have to make your decision NOW. One thing to consider. Glass is forever. Bodies come and go. I have the X100S, EPro, and E1. I may want to upgrade but my cams do what I need ...
  • I love my X100s. The upgrades made to the X100T are not enough for me to upgrade my cam. Maybe the X100U will get my heart and money. Face detection would be lovely but I have never had it so I ...
  • I would never want to go counter to what Ben Herrman writes. You state in your post to disregard the different sensors. I would think this is a major reason to augment your E-1 with the A-1. But ...
  • Replied in It Might Not
Dear Giovanni_1968: Good things come to those who can wait. After getting the 18-55 as part of the E-1 kit, I wanted the 55-200 lens. I wanted to pay $475 on craigslist. I missed two lenses at that ...
  • As Viking79 stated, many Fuji shooters are not interested in video. I like what Panasonic has done with its GH3 &GH4 models. I hope Fuji has taken note that video is a weakness of their system and ...
  • Replied in DOF
My opinion is when we take photographs while conducting street photography we are attempting to tell a story. A telephoto lens produces a compression in the depth of field. Much of the frame is ...
  • As stated before, this is a decision you must make. I have the Oly 12mm lens and I find it too wide for my taste as a street lens. Since I purchase the Fuji X100s with a fixed lens that has a 35mm ...
  • Congratulations on your XE-1 purchase. I am a mirrorless shooter. I started out with Olympus and use Panasonic for video. For my kind of shooting, street, I do not need high ISO. I bought an XE-1 ...
  • If you don't purchase an additional lens I have a suggestion other people are going to flame me for. None the less, here it is. Consider buying the Fuji microphone. This is a special occasion. ...
  • Thank you for your review. I believe this lens is one of the super stars of the micro 43s world. Small. Light. Sharp. Fast focus. And cheap. A real winner. Maybe the Oly 75 f1.8 is sharper. I have ...
  • Replied in XPro-1
Sounds like you are ebaying. I waited for a $450 XPro to appear on craigslist with no joy. I troll the national & local brick & mortar camera stores for Xpros. On small store Saturday I scored an ...
  • Replied in 35mm f1.4 Lens
This lens was purchased specifically to live on my XPro. I love the 50mm equivalent fov point of view. It compliments the 27 f2.0 on the X100S. Life is good. Marty
  • Doesn't sound like your Christmas present is going to be much of a surprise. It will be exactly what you want. I bought mine used from a local brick & mortar store along with the 35mm lens. Took it ...
