I own the Nikon 35 f1.4G and I'm seriously considering selling it for the Sigma 35 f1.4. Overall, I think the Sigma is slightly better and it's much cheaper. The Sigma is a no-brainer imo...as is...

I can only share my experience. Sent in my D800 for AF adjustment in June 2012 (i think) for the infamous left AF issues. Got it back and it was much better, but still generally unreliable...

Context: I've shot and owned Canon 5D, 5d2, Nikon D3x, D700. Shoot with Phase One and Hassy too, but never owned either. Since getting the D800, I feel no need for the Phase One rentals anymore.I...

Guess I'm lucky....my D600 isn't suffering from these issues. In fact, it's far better in regards to dust / oil etc than my old D3X. D800 focusing, that's a different story. Just got my D800...

OP....the D600 is a very significant upgrade over the D90...yet I've seen many (and made) wonderful images with the D90.If I were in your shoes, I'd get the D600 and build a lens kit with the f1.8...

Zeiss 100 f2 without a doubt. Well, the Schneider 90mm T/S would be sweet too. :)

Sorry I didn't see this before my post. I think you made a great choice. I'm waiting on Samyang's 24mm T/S myself. Rokinon / Samyang=same company I hear. Excellent value.

I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" ...but the f1.8G is the exception. I had the f1.4G and sold it after using the f1.8G.Is the f1.4G "better"? Yes, by a whisker. I personally ain't...

sfnikon and I have almost identical lens set ups except I don't have the Nikon 24G. I too recommend going with the 85 f1.8G over f1.4G. Zeiss 100f2 and Nikon 200f2 are magical on the D800 imo.I...

Cody, for me at least, it isn't that acknowledging Nikon / Sony has superior sensors equates to Canon sensors being "bad", simply that the Sony and Nikon tweaked Sony sensors are better. Is it...

So please help me understand this consistent meme in these forums...that the 5d3 is the "better camera overall". D800 ($2100 D600 too) is a better low iso camera.D800 is just as good in iso...

You prefer Canon 5d2 / 3 "output" to the D800/E output??? You completely lost me there. I can only say, good luck!
-
I could not disagree more! The D800 bodies can be compared to MFD in terms of DR, color depth and resolution, the 5d3 cannot. There's far more to DR advantages than pushing shadows and pushing...
-
Marek...while you can't really go "wrong" with either, for low iso image quality, the D800 or D800E are clearly better than the 5d3. There's a lot more to the D800's dynamic range advantage than...

Oh so true ;)If Canon announces a 46MP, high DR camera...the hypocrisy of the Canon fanboys that will fill this forum will be breathtaking. Time to make popcorn.

I believe if you use Adobe's DNG Converter app on the D600 NEFs, you can import the DNGs into LR, etc.
