I cannot ever see the need for me to do so.

The D800 is light years better than the D300! It is so much better that I cannot put it into words! It is so much better that I bought 2 x D800's and my D300 sits in a drawer as a back-up, back-up!

Have you got AUTO ISO enabled?I think that it reduces the buffer size.

Buy new and pay VAT which is 20%£1360.00 of your initial purchase price went to the goverment!

The camera is showing "In Stock" and a quick look online shows it is in stock with all the big retailers too.So the shortage appears to be over.March seems so long ago... all that madness!

I have the same combo and no problems to report.

Yes I know what you mean, it is a clunky sound.I get it too with my 70-200 and my 200-400.It does not stop these lenses capturing super sharp images though.

Why would anyone prefer a D600 over a D800 at these prices? What is the incentive?

Just like you that was my favourite combo until...I got my 200-400mm VRII.Honestly, nothing can prepare you for the quality of those images!!! Wow!

You make some very good points.I have noticed the same. I sure do love the images that the camera captures though.I decided against a D4 and bought 2 x D800's for the same price as 1 D4.I am still...

I was at York races the other day to see Frankel win his latest race. I took a D800 and 70-200 and left the D300 at home.I got some great images but I was shocked at how lame the D800 buffer is!The...

I discovered that the lens is hard to get hold of. Most dealers have to order it as a special order and who knows how long it will take to get in stock.I telephoned lots and lots of places here in...
