yeah... about 30 degree angle flipped, as a result you can hold it closer to your body near waistline and pressing the shutter at this location is more stable than holding the camera with strech hand.

yes try MF.... If it doen't work, then what is MF for? MF is the one with a distance scale in ft. or in meter.
