Don't forget that the 3880 comes with enough ink to print about 700 A4 pages.......

OP says he has "Artisan 725 with Continuous Ink". Presumably that means third-party ink, in which case the printer may be at least part of the problem. In my experience third-party inks normally...

The only thing that matters surely is what minimum number of pixels you need. A couple of people have said they produce good A2 prints from 8Mp images so that's the answer you need. I regularly...

Sounds fun. Look forward to seeing the results. Might even have a go myself next year!

I think you are probably referring to this post. The point about that was that the custom profile gave accurate results in daylight but a red cast in tungsten. In my experience a custom profile can...

The results on Aardenberg Imaging suggest that it is a concern with EEF. Seems that the paper base color changes rather quickly. Looks like one of the worst Baryta papers in this respect.

Or the viewing light is not bright enough.......

Here's another couple to add to the list:-The Panasonic 7-14m f/4 has quite a big hotspot on my 720nm converted GF1. It can be removed in PP, at least for pure B&W. I gave an example in this...

While I agree with the concept her I am not at all sure about the method. It's true that the "brightness" of the paper should match the brightness of the screen, but the brightness of the paper...

I've sent you an image by email.

The OP says that his prints look fine in daylight or skylight. This suggests that there is nothing wrong with his workflow - he is getting good prints when they are viewed in daylight. If they...

I haven't had any direct experience with the Pro9000 Mk II, but I have seen exactly this problem with other dye-ink printers, including the Epson 1400. What I have found, and confirmed by...

What, exactly, is your problem? Why do you think you need to "calibrate" your 3880?
-
I agree that this is a nice way to check your printer accuracy. I use it as part of my regular "quality" checks. The only difference is that I have my own version of the ColorChecker in a linear...

If you just want a quick check of your monitor luminance before you commit to a calibration device you might find this useful. Takes about two minutes and costs nothing.
-
No it's not just overly-bright monitors. Can just as easily be under-bright print viewing conditions. You need a lot of light on a print to get the reflected light to match the light emitted by a...

Surely there is another step involved here - displaying the print.Comparing "dark prints" with "bright monitors" can be very confusing. A monitor is self-luminous and therefore has an inherent...
