One reason to use anything more than f11 is shutter speed in obtaining extended exposures during twilight shooting and also increasing your ss for things like water... I love to shoot waterfalls,...

Yes there certainly is a curve... if you shoot in RAW, it makes it easier to play with your WB and get the settings just the way you like them.  Glad to hear your using LR. I certainly wondered...

What a fantastic shot!! I am so jealous!  I could only with to own one of the 350/2.8 lenses.  So glad you share with us, really enjoy the owls that seem to come alive from this lens!
