Tord S Eriksson: Never heard of AfterShot Pro before - I am going to try it out (free for a month), as I like simpler programs, like iPhoto, even though I have Aperature, LR4 and Bibble5 (which AfterShot Pro is partly based). But IPhoto just has become too big, recently (takes a lot of harddisc space!).
AfterShot is totally based on Bibble 5 because the developer team is the same. Coral purchased Bibble in january.
VividExposures: "Distortion is extremely well controlled, producing naturally proportioned photographs which are not typical of many other super wide angle lenses."
How is that possible?
maybe a 95mm flat front lens ?
Robert Montagne de Cerises: That's a ridiculous price. I bought a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L MACRO IS USM for less than 800 euros about 2 months ago. One of the sharpest lenses in my collection. What's better about this lens?
You compare a street price with release one, nonsense...
Faut le dire en Français aussi pour que tout le monde comprenne bien ?...
Photo_AK: I noticed the lack of distortion at 17mm ... Compared to 16-35/4 VR Nikkor's distortion at the wide end this looks fantastic!
aperture do not impact distorsion, only focal length
But see resolution of samples, 3861 x 2574 or less so less than full resolution of 5D Mark II, either they have been cropped, so distorsion may has been corrected, either the images have been taken in sRaw1 mode.
Ztaz: Thats right price !!! If price will be like for Canon 17-40/4, so whos gona buy this Tokina?)))))
If same price, maybe it will be better on full frame coverage, because more recent technologies.
And you know there are other brands, like Nikon. 16-35 f/4 is really more expensive than the Canon...
Nikon users, Sony users, Pentax user can buy such a lens, if it's good.
