No articulated LCD?No automatic lens barrier?
Waaaay to many entries - I feel sorry for the guys who go shuffled to the last few pages.100 is more than enough!
Only 4 days left - what's the deal with "uploading native image resolution"?Is it okay to set the camera to a more reasonable low resolution, like 4MP?
"Submissions should be uploaded as native image resolution."
Do we really have to upload 20MP, 24MP or even 36MP images? Can I set my camera to a lower resolution?
Sam Carriere: I am sure this is a good competent camera, but Nikon and Canon just don't seem to get it. The models that capture people's imagination these days are the ones that try to reimagine the same-old same-old -- like the Fuji X10 or the Sony RX 100 or even the NEX series, for all their shortcomings. I can't conceive of where the market is for this good, competent camera, in a field already so crowded with other good, competent cameras. And by the way, does anyone ever actually USE an articulated screen?
I've used several Coolpixes, a D5100, a Canon G12 and a RX100. The RX is really great, except for the fixed screen - so awkward! Once you are used to an articulated screen, you'll never want to go back.
l_objectif: I am sorry, but this kind of themes are only for a very small group of people!... Do I have to buy a ticket to India and be there at night to participate in this challenge?... really!
This is a website with worldwide readership. There are almost 1 billion people in India, and some 3 million people visit the Taj Mahal every year.I don't think this is a small group of people.
Mutaz: too many rules, I feel like in a school, and why we are not allowed to use watermarks ?
I agree with all the rules, they are all very reasonable and not restrictive at all. It just looks overwhelming - that's why some people complain.I think most of your rules should be made general for all challenges. After that the individual challenges would have only a few specific rules.
5 days already, still no explanation. Most of us actually spend quite some time and effort to shoot these pictures and upload them, so it would be really nice to find out why a particular entry got rejected.
Dear host, please comment.
Wilfried HKG: Hmmm ... I got DQ'ed, but without explanation. My capture date was clearly correct, it was in the morning, it was through the window, and the (half open) window frame was in the picture.I'm confused.Dear host, please give me a hint what I did wrong.
Still no explanation for the DQ? It would be basic courtesy by the host.

yes, should be okay - "G" for gross
these are grapes, not grapefruit - nice lighting, though :)
what, no grape juice?:)
looks very classic, textbook
Mike Ronesia: Congrats, very nice.
Thanks. It is a 110V 750W lamp, but I ran just 12V through it to make it glow like this.
Wilfried HKG: Strange ... Fruit Salad is food, which starts with F, but got disqualified. Did I do something else wrong? Was it the mint leaf on top?
Where is the F in "Tuna Zanzibar"?"Fresh Rainbow Trout" seems to be okay, so "Fresh Fruit Salad" would have been okay. too?
Just wondering ... trying to understand your logic.
Alright, then how about fish? That is also a whole category with 32,000 species.Yet, "fish" seems to be fine for this challenge.
looks far better than the pale ones from "M"
