Where did you get it?  They have been back-ordered forever

So now I am looking at possibly the Sigma 85mm 1.4.  Its a better lens anyway.

I just (4-26-13) got off the phone with Adorama, this lens will be backordered for at least 2 more weeks.  They can not give an estimated delivery date.  But Nikon typically notifies them 2 weeks...

We will soon need a sigma rumors website. They are beating Canon and Nikon on the lens innovation lately. And shaming the big 2 with their prices.

Have you looked at the Tokina 16-28mm.    Seems like a compromise and wont break the bank.

I am thinking of a similar set up.  But wouldn't a 28mm & 35mm be close enough to just pick one or the other?

Cost is not too much of a concern, but I am looking for value.  I am mostly going to use a wide for architecture shots in the city where I reside.  Also would use it for scene shots on vacations....

Bit the bullet and picked up the 85mm 1.8g.  Don't even have a camera yet, but I know that one will be a staple lens to have.

If any members have had their shutter replaced by Nikon, can you please comment on if you are still having the oil/dust issue?   If you have not had it return please provide a shutter count since...

Anybody expect the lens rebate to be extended for another month?  Not ready to buy yet but want the 85mm 1.8g

Going to answer my own question: I just checked with Adorama. They had the 2 year warranty as an "add on" next to the refurbished unit. This was a mistake by them and they are going to correct...

I am looking at getting the D600 or D800, with all the issues people are having it seems that maybe a better deal is to get a refurbished unit and the extended Nikon 2 year warranty.  for example...
