Me too! I was eating at Rainforest Cafe with the family at Animal Kingdom (Disney World) last month when I took my little kid to the bathroom. When I got out, the others were exiting the...

I went for the 70-200II. I also do a lot of candids and portraits, but mainly family/kids. Unlike you, I use f/2.8 a lot (outdoors at all hours, school plays, dance/activities). Moreover, I seldom...

It is generally recommended to do some minor sharpening when downsizing images (even when using fully processed TIFFs or JPGs as source). In CS5, I usually batch process using a script which...

Other than the GPS, do you by chance use the Tamron 24-70VC? Some older units of this lens were also known to drain the battery when mounted. If so, Tamron will fix free of charge.

Similar here too: 24-70II, 70-200II (and 35L) and TC 1.4 II. I think you'll be very happy with your choice. My brother got the Tamron 24-70 f/2.8VC for his 6D and it has really impressed me. Great...

In that case, the only cons I can think of are price and weight. I did upgrade to the 70-200II and strongly recommend it. Of course, the 135L gives you an additional stop, but no IS and less...

Assuming you're talking about the original 70-200 f/2.8LIS, while a very nice lens, another thing to consider is that it has been out of production for a while and will not be supported/repairable...

I'd say yes. More for fill than night-time. But that all depends on your style/preferences. IMHO, the 580 (and 600) are light and not a problem to carry (mounted) when using a sling style strap...

I assume this is a kind of puffball? If so, one of my favorite - and best tasting mushrooms around!

I love porcini mushrooms. Great for cooking!

Thanks! Lots of nice pictures in your folder.

Good choice! I went to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom (and Gatorland) back in late April and brought the 24-70II, 70-200II and 35L. I used both zooms a lot, but not so much the 35L. I found the...

I'm just a lowly hobbyist taking pictures of my kids and family. No doubt, I could do well with the f4IS, however, I am often surprised to find myself at f/2.8 regularly (either to keep high...

Congrats! I am sure you will love it, as I do mine. :-)

The 18-55 doesn't fit the 5D2 or any other FF camera. Must have been something else.

I haven't pushed the IS too hard but 1/20 at 200mm with the 70-200II is no problem. Sample below.

This is the one I have on my 24-70II and it works great, although it is a little pricey.

I recently got the CB Jr for this purpose, and it works great (see thread: http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3467574). It has a tripod mount on the bottom, so it should also work for you.
It...
