No idea if you tried this but I bet a few people might want to know. If you zoomed all the way to 500mm with Sigma then shot the other two at there full zoom which would pull more fine detail say...

New member wont show any samples, and DP has free gallery, yea real believable. I have shot with a 5D2 its not cleaner period.

Typical raw file size is about 31 meg raw if in 14 bit lossless compressed . I will let you do the math.

Even if the 70-200 with converters is better or a little worse its about zoom range. Shooting say a airshow you can zoom back to 80mm for a wide shot then in to 400mm for a single aircraft flyby....

If it is have you tried use the micro lens adjustment on the camera to fine tune the lens. Quite frankly its not any were near acceptable to me. Not for a 2700 lens. Much worse than my 50-500OS...

I agree if sigma did a 400mm 5.6 OS and could get it at around $1500 that would be good. I would think it would be a simpler design but cost some if they used good glass in it like the 35 1.4....
