Forget about DSLRs. Oversize, few real advantages (taking into account the context of your question). In fact DSLRs are fast going the way of dinosaurs. In photography the camera is a secondary...

FWIW, setting this value to 1/8 has greatly improved the number of sharp pix I'm getting from the EM5/100-300 combination - when shooting at the long end. I don't really understand why but it...

I suggest taking a look at this comparison posted by someone on the FM site.

"waste of focus".
Hmm.

Believe me this isn't unique to one manufacturer. I sent in a fully working under-warranty camera for sensor cleaning (from which information you may be able to deduce the make) and it came back...

I've often thought the same thing. Precisely how it would be implemented (see preceding comments) is another issue. But yes, it would certainly be useful now that lenses lack aperture/dof...

Unless I'm mistaken the AF speed is unchanged in comparison to the E-M5 in the case of native lenses. The on-sensor PDAF is only relevant in the case of 4/3 lenses, or so I believe.
I use an E-M5...

Although I mostly shoot M4/3 these days it was precisely my own 14-24 that makes this function so desirable. At 14mm particularly the distortion really bothers me even on landscape shots...

Thanks for seeing past the attempt at humor (actually humour but the spell checker round here speaks 'Mercan) through to the kernel. Apart from the fact that DSLRs - a D700 in my case - are so...

Don't.
Unless your intention is to join the community of "I'm a wally with a DSLR that I don't really know how to use strung round my neck and holding the (kit) lens with my left hand as it tends...

Although it's a well-kept secret, most manufacturers incorporate hardware and firmware which is synchronised to the release schedule for their product line. This means that as soon as the latest...

You're able to guarantee that!? And even if it's true, in a couple of years you'll be turning up your nose at the abysmal resolution. Yes, today it's a great viewfinder but tomorrow marketing...

And if you need a viewfinder (if?) that'll be another $450 Sir. "Never give a sucker an even break" W.C. Fields

Now that everyone with DSLR thinks they're a cinematographer I just wish more of them would learn how to shoot. A couple of days ago I watched a full-length documentary on Sky Arts predominantly...

Nice idea, small market. If - maybe when - a few of them start leaking and the shouting begins...

Fuji are trying to run through the entire alphabet quicker than any other manufacturer, it seems. Thankfully I narrowly escaped buying an X "Pro"1 when it was released and have had no difficulty...
