06m1r3m86: I've always loved the Safari Leica R's, and if I could get that in a modern DSLR, that would be awesome.
A point of annoyance, I currently have a Canon, would prefer to not switch brands, but I want a weather sealed camera so bad and Pentax has done such a better job at bringing weather sealing down to consumer cameras while still keeping the camera small. The K3, it's smaller than the Canon 70D and Nikon D7100 and yet it still has a full metal body and everything else those cameras have (though the AF doesn't have the same "wow" factor on paper). Why can't the other companies do what Pentax is doing so I wouldn't have to mull over my desire to stick with Canon?
And that kit lens, it's weather resistant, but I haven't seen any clear pictures of the lens mount, is it plastic or is it metal?
agree..try dropping a metal and a plastic lens..the metal would break in two but the plastic will still keep you shooting and don't get break in two.
Alex Sarbu: DPReview, this is how it should be done:http://www.imaging-resource.com/news/2015/02/09/pentax-k-s2-targets-the-family-photographer-with-handy-mix-of-enthusiast-co
Not your constant mockery.
i agree with you, alex.i read it the other day and at IR it states that the KS2 has a mic port, while at DPR's full specification of the camera ,it says a big NO....what a shame... i reported it to them, but until now,it's not yet corrected..
wow! the pentaxians invaded DPR...!
DPR isn't nice to Pentax ...1st was the ''blinking lights'' and now.the ''shiny disco lights''...does it needs to be mentioned?
David Hurt: Who would want a camera that color????
m e !!!!! that woluld match my wrangler unlimited edition ! !
driftnomore: is my k-5 better than the k-3?
wow! thanks paul...if we have only choices of lenses here in europe.lenses here are scant and are more expensive.thought of sellimg my k-5.
is my k-5 better than the k-3?
wow! an external 4k recorder costs $2k,making it at least $4k to shoot a 4k?......whoah! the tv would be at least 55 inch that you have to chop of your living room to accommodate the tv...crazy.
evoprox: What does this remind me of ??? I can only hope for you guys that they don't repeat the NEX desaster (more bodies than lenses) and come out with some decent glass pretty quick before they ditch it altogether yet again. After 3 years in the NEX world my money goes to Fuji these days - couldn't be happier.
minolta's R&D died when sony acquired minolta.do you think minolta will continue their R&D for sony?look how other companies make sony sensors produce better image qualities compared to their own cameras? it's a shame to produce a good sensor but can't apply it to their own cameras and make it achieve better performance.poor sony!...or,produce lenses every month, not cameras if you want to survive.
sony ,flourishing the market with a new camera almost every month.//>,.,)(**&&^%%@$%??//???? STRUGGLING?
''evolution''.............EVOLVE! ......then,evolve the D300s and other lenses that needs evolving !
driftnomore: next time, don't waste your money on any sony product.........
some manufacturers buy their sensors from sony ,but they are executing it better than the seller.......
next time, don't waste your money on any sony product.........
driftnomore: weather -sealed,huh.... with a non weather-resist expensive lens? what's the use? sell it to the morons,FUJI !

weather -sealed,huh.... with a non weather-resist expensive lens? what's the use? sell it to the morons,FUJI !
driftnomore: to simply put....it is expensive!
you can find a weather-sealed camera out there for half the price.....
KL Matt: For anyone looking for the roadmap of exactly how DPR plans to take this particular mirrorless camera down a peg or two in the full review, it's right here:"However, in combination with the increasingly comprehensive-looking lens range, it's pretty clear that Fujifilm doesn't see the X-T1 as competing with mirrorless cameras, but with the enthusiast-level DSLRs such as the Canon 70D, Nikon D7100, and Pentax K-3."I.e. we're going to selectively ignore the advantages of mirrorless to focus on the weaknesses by comparing apples to oranges yet again. Note that DPR is actually planning on *punishing* this Fuji in the review for having a strong lens lineup. Kafkaesque. Who the heck does this make sense to, anyone?
when it is a SONY product, expect a mediocre to good rating, but always a mediocre one.....
to simply put....it is expensive!
..the pentax k-3 review is left in the cold....
other websites has reviewed it with fair results.you may not review it,dpr anyway..
samsung, make bulldozers and rollers not cameras ! ! !
