Francis Carver: Wow, a tiny, low-rez LCD screen, plus a parallax view optical hole-in-the-wall VF of unmentionably small size with a clever digital overlay over it. The viewfinder covers and shows only 85% of what is being recorded? Why not 115 or 120 percent, so we can look-around a bit around the frame lines, which is what these parallax view OVFs were very good in the old days, anyhow.
This supposed to be impressive these days? Nay.
If the OVF is very good, the LCD screen resolution is less important. the ultimate criterion is image quality. For that, we have to wait and see.
Should I be surprised there is no full HD mode at 30fps? Seems to me that 60fps is overdoing things (by a factor of two) for many video purposes. 36 Mb/s sounds kind of frightening, IMO...
Don Karner: So now that the camera has been dead and buried for months, we get a full review. Better late than never I guess.
Thank you DPR for this comprehensive review!
