Excellent. Great nostalgic effect.

amazing details, and very interesting presentation.
How did you keep the purple color while the other colors desaturated?

Thank you so much, Rick. A most useful review. I've been wondering how this lens stack up against the older non OS version of 17-70 which I have use most often.
I'll upgrade to this "C" with...

It depends on what you shoot. I thought of brining only DP2M for a 3 day hiking in mountains but decided against it. I found I still needed SD1M for longer FL.If you really want travel light but...

at iso200 the gain in DR is significant , more than compensating the negligible increase in shadow noise. But that's just my opinion .--Maple

in color, fine details and framing. I wish I could do snapshots like that.
I've been resisting buying more than one DPM, telling myself that it's evil of Sigma to make more than two separate DPM's...

It's hard to tell by images of this size. But would guess theĀ 2nd one from DP2M, by its desaturated shadows.

Excellent street portraits.
Always wanted to photograph people and too shy to approach them.

Thank you very much, Ed_S.
The ability to render subtle transition in hues is one of the two biggest strengths Foveon. The other one is the ability to resolve micro contrast, such as foliage....

I agree that ILC is more interesting. Foveon Sensor would benefit from ILC in that
- CDAF is more consistent in AF accuracy that Foveon sensor is very fussy about
- The smaller form factor of ILC...

Thank you, Lazlo. I did try to capture the feel of Fall

I have no clue. Many are willows and could be foreign.

I find these are quite close to what I saw.

You are right. But I had the 8-16mm in mind, too.

Bravo to Sigma for not only having identified the trend of the latest crop sensors pushing the imaging limits of lenses, but put together strategy and action plans in response. No others have done...

You may say that. The 2nd one is about right, while the first and third seem erring on the yellow or green side. I find yellow and red in cloudy whether is challenging.
But that was yesterday. Last...
