A compact that's not so compact and for $2400.00/ Lets take a look at the specs: fixed slow lens, no RAW, 1 inch sensor and a tilting body AND tilting screen. ...should have charged $3500.00.

So it's a Gm1 with articulating screen ...for less then the Gm1. Sounds good to me.

Stitzer23: Nice pics. So, can these photos be taken with a cameraphone or a basic compact? No i didnt think so. The tool does matter. I wish people could just stop with the notion that the equipment is not important.

@NZ Scott ...you put the smartphone on a tripod and set ISO high.

Actually, yes, most of them could in the right hands. The camera doesn't matter but equipment is very important.

Digitall: Advice #1: Never buy a Action camera less than 60fps at FHD.

I take pictures ...I only need about 1 frame per 2 seconds.

The only problem I see is that most of these waterproof compacts leak ...and the gopro case doesn't. It's priced fairly low though and as long as it is truly sealed, looks like it could compete. Most people have no idea what the difference is between the different "p's" so probably a non issue.

On Fujifilm announces X30 enthusiast compact camera article (43 comments in total)
In reply to:

Nukunukoo: Seriously? I have the X20 and there really is no compelling reason to switch (and I still love the X20's Retro Styling). Same lens and sensor (not that I'm complaining, good IQ especially in PP). Full manual and better Movie Mode does call for serious consideration BUT it should have been in the X20 in the first place! Tilting screen and battery life is applaud-able but it's more of an X25 than an X30 if the key features have not changed at all!

So what you're saying is that you don't like the name...

raay: This camera just has a larger MP sensor and AF , not better than 5n . No way to attach evf or flash , even a radio trigger could be used if it had Hotshoe , THIS IS NOT A 5series camera.

Yeah ...it is, its called a5100. Unfortunately Sony decides what a 5 series camera is, not you.

artwine: Lesson 1 - which should be obvious by now - is that if you post anything on the Internet, anywhere, then it's now in the public domain. You have relinguished your rights to it, in essence. If you don't like it, don't post! There's a price to pay for "advertising".

...sounds like some people got an F in the first lesson.

matador88: so what is the advantage of this new slide over current leash??

It cost more, there are more parts to break, it takes more time to put it on, and together, and its more of a hassle because it takes up more space. It looks like that girl in the middle has a strap that takes up three times the volume of the actual camera.

I guess if your into "accessories" though...

select: nice improvements, but the lack of 4k video, wifi and gps, is a shame for a camera that costs over 3k euros

Unless you are using it to take pictures ...wifi and gps is just fluff

Direct link | Posted on Jun 26, 2014 at 12:57 UTC

Awesome ...so you buy a mirrorless camera for the main advantage of being smaller and lighter than an SLR then you put it on the back of one of the biggest heaviest cameras you can find.

Nice shots ...but wouldn't a macro lens work?
