orion1983: Has picture 148 been shot through the front window of a driving car?! If so, it's pure nonsense as this would severly bias the image quality! If not so, one has to hope that the two blurred spots (on the right and left, in the blue sky) are not derived from sensor particles!!!

What's the point in reviewing digital zoom capabilities at all?

I'm much more impressed with #137.

Thats not a sensor, that a joke.

Can you can just imagine the size of the same 60x zoom on a 4/3?

///M: My Canon 70-200 /2.8 is rev. 1 was around the world, shooting music festivals, many commercial jobs, and I was still able to sell it for more then I paid brand new, when I picked up my MkII. My secret, I TAKE CARE OF MY EQUIPMENT, and don't use my lens as a tactical weapon, garden tool, stool, or in the stead of other household items, and my equipment does not fail me.

You're right, sigma's 300-800 is a lot handier as a stool and weapon.

santamonica812: No RAW. Therefore, no interest at all for serious photographers looking for a 2nd, lighter and all-in-one, camera to bring on their travels.

Pity.

Oh, sir, you don't want to see all those noise dots in 16Mp 1/2.3" raws...

Maybe "2.0 GHz processor" isn't enough for it.

In reply to:

Peter Kroll: With it's fixed screen I don't see the G15 becoming a success. In a year they'll have a G16 with articulated screen. Anyway, I am considering moving to P7700.

Canon is not anymore what it once was, IMO. The G11 I own makes good photos, but the build quality is not really what it seems first. Just two examples: Wobbly shutter button. The optical viewfinder had a dirt particle inside after about 3 months only.

What? You have dust in your G11's viewfinder? It's time to buy a new camera! G15! ;-)

It also is a great letter-weight.

jcmarfilph: Prolly you need to stop down the lens to f/5.6 to get the sharpest image =D

FZ20 had sharpest at 2.8 on wide end and at 4.0 on long end.

Plutone: As a G11 user I am a bit disappointed, this is not a big leap forward, corner sharpness of the G11 is actually better the this camera.

That's the question what's more important - sharp corners or clear iso1600.
I think iso is more important.
One or two step slower end isn't even noticeable.

Just wait a year - they'll announce a 24mp with 25600 on the same sensor. ;-)

18 Mp
Sensor size 1/2.3"
Iso 12800

Ridiculous.
