As with its predecessors it's one of those cameras that really has something compelling going on despite all the negativity from the naysayers. I've used all 3 of them and will gladly get a V4 again when it comes out next time, together with the lenses there's nothing quite as fun as shooting with an N1.

Most people are quick to bash it for its IQ but then again many don't even venture out of JPEG or know how to get the best of out their bigger-sensor cameras anyway. With a consistent workflow, I've managed to get the IQ at exactly where I want it, sometimes up to ISO6400.

It's priced somewhat high per se but 1200 for the ultimate camera in a compact, complete system (18-810mm, 2kg in a small bag and that's with the 85f/1.4) seems about fair.

Aspenz: Don't like it, don't buy it, simple as.

The IQ is pretty decent and high iso has improved. I've never seen a difference between the M43 and N1 images anyway apart from iso, and it's more or less equal now. If anything, the Olympus cameras have sharpening haloes and M43 in general has poor rendition of highlights. It's funny when the M43 crowd equate themselves with APS-C or worse still FF, when there clearly is a difference.

And as good as these are they're still jpegs. If you know what you're doing with the raw files there's lots of details to be gotten.

@Pixnat2

And that's YOUR opinion. What I see/perceive can't be changed now, can it? Yeah, the Fuji X has better IQ, so does the NEX, in fact most other systems do, but not the M43, or at least the difference is so small, and really that's all I'm saying.

As for the RX... hahaha, I've gone to great length discussing and arguing this with people in the N1 forum... I even downloaded the raw file as a user suggested to try to prove me wrong, but nope, the N1 has better IQ. No NR that can't be switched off and better detail rendition, even the 10mps(!) models.

Anyway, sorry but I'm done here, don't wanna go over things that people who are wrong proclaim all the time. Enjoy your gear, and its possibly high score on DP/DXO!

beavertown: Whoever has bought it at 1200 USD is stupid.

Or maybe you're the moron who doesn't know a thing?

When you've a portable set of lenses that cover UW to supertelephoto range alongside decent IQ and excellent AF that does everything for you, the price is forgiven.

Hahaha... DXO, dpreview comparometer, sorry but I've the N1 cameras and deduced accordingly from what I've seen. I also happen to follow a lot of flickr users with a wide variety of gear, anything I'm saying is just my observation anyway. My second choice system would be the Fuji X, M43 is more of a jack of all trades situation.

Oh. and M43 users, please tell your forum folks to stay within that forum. We've no need for their 'input' in the N1 forum, as a second system most aren't interested in it anyway, and besides, those type of stuff belong to Open Talk.
