In reply to:

Rick Sammon: JackinTo - Sammon can tell you. To capture the entire dynamic range of the scene. ONLY 1 underexposed image was needed... but 4 overexposed was needed.

This is the key to HDR.

Many more examples in my iHDR app: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rick-sammons-ihdr/id421050581?mt=8

thanks a lot for the beautiful article
but for example i haven't a camera with a built in hdr
i use a canon 5d mark2 so i have to use another software like photomatix

would you maybe release an update how obtain such amazing results with a camera like 5d mark2 and software like photomatix?

thanks again !
cheers

but may i ask a question about Phase-detection autofocus ?
seening the new trend of the mirrorless camera ,i'm confused by the "Phase-detection autofocus"

is the servo mode? the tracking mode ? or the sensor cmos focus mode?

hi
i don't relly care about EF-S 18-135mm
i wll never buy ef-S lenses

but about the 40 2.8 ? is a weird focal , not enough wide on full frame ,weird even on 1.6 sensor

can't really understand what canon is doing
and about prices it's very cheap, hope about the chart ,for this price will be sharp enough

is Stepper motor brand new or is a better 501.8 af motor?

would really love to see new 35 1.4 , and the new 50mm
and maybe maybe some new EF (non L ) with great IQ and low prices
the recent canon prices are really high

cheers

Stanley zheng: I was wondering why the score for a dynamic range done by dxomark is different from dpreview, for example nikon d700 dxomark came up with 12.2 ev for its dynamic range and dpreview come up with only 7ev at base iso 100. I dont understand, can anyone explain why? cuz personally, I dont believe nikon d800 has a dynamic range of 14 ev.

by the way , for dxo the legendary d40x (300€) scores better then my 5d mark 2

never understood
i trusts of digital review ;)

i'm watching the compare between the d800 and canon 5D mark 3

the 5d mark3 is extraordinary

2 or 3 steps better then the 5d mark2

mantra: i guess i would like the new acr (sadly i have to upgrade to cs6!)
and the ability to enlarge the curve adjustament layer (in cs5 or cs4 is very tiny)

does someone know if there is only the rule of third in the crop ?

PS hope cs6 will use as well the GPU and video memory , the minimum is 500MB of video card!

how?
i mean the curve window size, i add a curve adjustament layer and the curve window is small, but i can't drag to make it more large
