As a mater of fact , what about the G4? Was it so terrible or is it a question of marketing superstition?

Unfortunately, I think all of you are missing the point. Using a ultra-wide angle will obviously show more of the indoor space in one shot but will also exagerate the dimensions of the room in...

RTFM!! Before you go out and change cameras, just go out and shoot pictures! Learn about white balance settiings! Unless you're a pro photographer with very speciific needs, (studio, sports), if...

One of the G3's shortcomings is the disappointing white balance presets with artificial lighting. Fortunately, you have ways to make your own presets, either by adjusting the colour vectors...

I have bought my own G3 16 months ago, body-only + 14-45 and 45-200 zoom lenses. I decided to avoid the less-expensive G3 + 14-42 kit because of the relatively bad reviews for this lens compared to...

I have a hard time figuring out why you seem to need to save a few bucks on an end-of-the-line model while mentioning you want to buy about 4000$ of the most expensive glass available for µ4/3...

I just received the Rokinon 7.5mm (250$ on Ebay.ca). After a few days of mostly outdoors shooting, I can share a few first impressions. First, in terms of build quality. It's a tight, light and...

While I agree with most points stated in the previous post, I will submit my own 2¢ worth here.1) On the OVF vs EVF question, the biggest difference I found comparing the G3 EVF with most DSLRs...

Do try to use the lens with OIS OFF over 1/125. Depending on your own stability when shooting, you may well get better results than with OIS ON. Under 1/60, OIS ON should get better results....

I agree. I have the same combination (had to buy the G3 body-only + the 14-45 instead of the less expensive G3+14-42 kit). One thing though: it is a pure Panasonic product and not a PL...

Yes, most - not all - Panasonic lenses come with OIS which increases cost but bear in mind that their optical design is sloppy in terms of distorsiom and CA since both are controlled by the camera....

By the way, I went through your photo galleryand have two comments about it:1. Congrats, your Oz panos are breathtaking - does that make you the Wizard of Oz? (sorry, easy one...).2. Your spiral...

To Noirist: I don't debate that fact; indeed, it's pretty much what I was saying: all lenses were once made out of metal as a matter of fact. Now, the simple adding of a metal barrel and focusing...

Maybe not a debate, rather a question/wish for Panasonic to make panorama shots a little easier to make. BTW, Australia must give you a lot of great Panorama possibilities...
-
About pricing... A long time ago, lenses were made with a lot of metal and glass - not polycarbonate - and 70-200mm zooms (35mm eq.) were the most popular and mostly least expensive zooms...

I must admit, I have a problem with "semi-pro" cameras without a viewfinderlike the GX1.1- Unless you are under 40 years old, focusing on a small screen 12" from your face while looking at the...

There seems to be a debate between all-in-camera photo stitching and "take pictures more or less in the same panorama and stitch them with software". I was expecting more of a middle ground as seen...

Thanks for the informative preview; shame about the ridiculou$ pricing though... BTW, kudos for the sample gallery; you manage to take great pictures even when they are meant primarily just to...

On the size issue, yes the Oly 9-18 is very small but you need to factor in the size of the extr lens hood you'll need for the Oly. Besides that, is the price doesn't scare you away and you don't...
