Replied in Where oh where are the viewfinders?
Hilarious.

Replied in color version...
The B&W looks a bit blown out and lacks tons of detail that we do see in the colour version.
The straw on the ground does look a bit green/grey though, but that may be just right.
So, colour...

Replied in It is shortly
The ironic thing would be if they bring out a truly competent e-720-type DSLR with a smallish body and all the sensor/processing from the e-M5 ... I can see Olympus making serious money from double...
-
Replied in b&w mode....not filter
I couldn't get the same 'feel' from e-P1, e-pL1, e-pL2 or e-pM1 B&W conversions without (unnecassary) processing in whatever photo editor thing I use.
G1 = simple, easy and accidentally comes with...

Replied in Looking for 2nd camera with b&w mode....not filter
Dynamic B&W is truly excellent on my Lumix G1, but because it is "old" and 12mpx nobody is going to take my suggestion seriously.
But seriously folks, that dynamic B&W crushes the B&W I get from...

Replied in Wagon wheel.
Can you step back a bit?
How about that 50mm on the e-pL3 you've already got on your tipod?
Step back.
Surely you've always got a 50mm with you right?

Replied in Show me-don't talk about DOF FF vs u4/3
OK I think I get it, you're going to post a *hideously oversharpened snapshot* of a flower in a pot, get everyone to post similar flower-in-focus blurred-background pictures, and then ... wait for...

Replied in Trying to learn the E-PL2
...and make sure face-detect isn't ON and hijacking your focus box when you least expect it. Sometimes it'll see a stone with two dots on it and decide "FACE"!
Quite funny really.
As for the...

Replied in Simple portrait using 45mm lens
and yet I still think the human face is the more prominent (and should be the doggy) and more attention should be given to their relationship by a better pose or more imaginative angle.

Replied in Simple portrait using 45mm lens
I think the composition could have been more imaginative to give the doggy more importance or add humour. Dog also looks less sharp than the human due to the lighting.
Also, cropped the top of her...

Replied in Put it in manual mode...
I don't see why some folk are actually arguing the point.
If what you say about the R1 is true then certainly ;
Just that.
Use it in a slightly different way, I often have the histogram...

Replied in Low Budget Weddings.
Hi Joesiv, what were these nonexistant bodies? (Unless 4/3rds but that'd be cheating.)

Replied in Smaller full-frame please.
Personally I'd love a 35mm-sensored camera that cost a reasonably affordable amount and wasn't a huge melted brick of black plastic.
The Leica M9 is way too expensive ... everything else is an...

Replied in Storm in a teacup? Indeed.
It has always baffled me why people translate *away* from the words into something less accurrate : here for example you've inserted the ridiculous word "Hurricane" for no reason...

Replied in M mount adapter
Is the EVF good for quick focusing of totally manual lenses?
If so, it's now an M8-lookalike with better high-ISO : win win.
What're the comparative costs with XPro body plus adapter?

Replied in Panasonic 12-35 vs 14-45
They cannot be directly compared as the conditions/sensor were different for each.
That's not to say I don't await real-world back-garden comparisons from some keen early adopter simply for the...

Replied in EPM1 with Legacy adapter help
I can only imagine the lens-release pin got bent or mashed up against the mounting ring and it is sticking a bit closed even when you can see it sticking out ... with no lens on at all. I just...
