Waking up is a very good start to the day and my plan is to fully enjoy each and every one.

  • Thought I had my names mixed up but no, it wasn’t posted by Brett. Is there glitter in that loch?....or do I still have my names mixed up? Maybe there's a river with the same christian name then.
  • Jörg, could that be the Chinese Garden Qian Yuan in the Botanischer Garten der Ruhr-Universität Bochum? (Botanical Garden of the Ruhr University Bochum, Germany) (Said to be a classical southern ...

Yes Hans, the wharf at the fertilizer factory, Ravensborne, Otago Harbour, Dunedin. I was standing out on a platform between carriages for most of the trip, luckily the weather was kind to me. Over ...

A T-shaped wharf in a large harbour which had volcanic origins. And all three photos taken from a moving train.
  • What and where? Think pastoral, cropping and horticultural uses....
  • Hans, could that be Riedlingen , a town in the south-west of Germany? (The river being the Danube?)

Good evening Pat. Yes it is Dunedin and I must mention that our NZ expert Hans had it very early on, after the first photo, but again politely refrained from guessing to give others a chance. A ...

  • Where?
  • That appears to be Friedrichsburg (Frederick's castle) in Festung Königstein (Königstein Fortress) near Dresden, Germany. A difficult one, I didn't think it was a castle! And the mechanical table ...
  • Perhaps you could call that the far east Hans....or maybe borderline split personality. ;-)

  • What is the name of the island in the foreground? It is a large island and we are looking west towards other islands.

Hi Dave, that looks like the National Wallace Monument , a tower standing on the summit of Abbey Craig, a hilltop near Stirling in Scotland? (BTW, I like that first photo!)
  • Replied in FREE TURN
Stumbled across the old church early on Pat. It is now a FREE TURN as I need an early night for an early morning start at a seminar tomorrow. Regards, Max.
  • Hi Pat. Could that be Kilbarrack Cemetery (on the Dublin-Howth road), Sutton, County Dublin, Ireland?
  • Replied in Jörg
Yes, it is the old Mt Eden Prison building. Well done and over to you.
  • Replied in Mike
Hi Mike, stone was actually used for the old Auckland Railway Station. But the photos were not taken there and Jörg is correct with the old Mt Eden Prison building.
