What about contrast and colors? These things are quite subjective, but I tend to notice that many off-brand lens like Tamron and Sigma cannot match their Canon or Nikon equivalents.

Canon definitely won't like Magic Lantern since they're loosing control over what features are enabled or disabled. The 6D is a great example of how Canon purposely handicaps a camera in multiple ways. The question is whether Canon will attempt to block Magic Lantern by a firmware update or make Magic Lantern really difficult/impossible to implement in future cameras. And of course, they can always sue.

Dear Adobe, stop treating your honest and paying customers like pirates. The pirates will find their way regardless of what you do, while paying customers will flee to competing products.

straylightrun: Too bad they didn't include IS. Still, this lens will be a low light machine for Sony/Pentax users. I'm guessing RRP will be at least $2000?
@DStudio, Checkout Sigma website, only the Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts are listed there.

Great alternative for 17-55/2.8 lens if you're willing to trade some zoom range for more light, Nikon and Canon have been ignoring to update their fast crop lens for a awhile now.

No way Canon or Nikon would allow an open source operating system to run on their DSLRs, and let third party developers to add features. That would be against their market fragmentation policies. Case in point: heavily crippled 6D by Canon.

Benarm: Another major Lightroom release without native support for RAW editing via plugins like Photomatix, Silver Efex Pro, etc.
@WellyNZ You misunderstood, I don't want to edit the actual RAW file, I want to apply Lightroom-style changes to it using the plugins too. In other words, I want to skip the conversion to TIFF in order to use, for example, the Silver Efex Pro plugin. Lightroom plugins should be more closely integrated and perform like addition features of Lightroom, rather than be like external applications where you need to feed a TIFF file to it.

I love 500px. Very professionally designed, clean interface, beautiful look, and most importantly the photo sharing is focused on quality rather than quantity (I'm looking at you, Flickr!).

The writing is on the wall. EVF will replace OVF like digital replaced film. Same goes for mirror flip and mechanical shutters. Obviously it won't happen overnight or in a first attempt/generation.

I would chose RX1 instead, even for the same price as this or any other Leica M.

Raw Therapee is an awesome alternative to Lightroom. Another great one is Photo Ninja, but its not free.
This is awesome! I hope they will keep adding more cameras and make the interface touch friendly for Windows 8 & Surface Pro.

What about Sony?
Meh, they should use their 1" sensor in a bridge camera. That would RX100-level worthy! :)

Oh Sigma 35mm, the beautiful!
Nikon D600: Aperture control in LiveView mode. Can someone check if it was actually fixed? Maybe Nikon didn't mentioned it in the release notes.
I hate the fact that Sony Apps are not open to third-party developers, but the new Motion Shot app is pretty nice.
