JEROME NOLAS: And I am waiting for 24-50mm f2.8 zoom...
Why 3 times bigger? We didn't have pancake power zooms few years back...and during film era we had Leica Minilux and others (full frame!) I am glad you are not in chargé of designing today's cameras!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I am waiting for 24-50mm f2.8 zoom...
Why so much hate? If you don't like, don't buy it! I am waiting for a "perfect camera" all my life!
Great pocket rocket...!!! Like it a lot!
draschan: interesting to me that this does not stir more enthusiasm. to me m43 is all about size. with the 20mm and the 14mm pancakes it is a perfect match. hope it will be available soon without the kit lens. having very large hands I never had troubles with small cameras. large hands doesn't mean clumsy. I was thinking about getting a ricohGR or rx100II but I will take a look at the GM1 first.
Take GR, it's fantastic!
Mirrorless Crusader: They should have tried to make a smaller version of the GX 1, with fixed lens 12-45mm f/2.8-f/5.6 zoom.
Seems we have similar ideas, you were just faster!
Not sure about this one. They could have a winner, if the lens (zoom 24-50mm, f2.8-4.0) is fixed and the body is size of LX7. With m4/3 sensor it would be a killer! Now it's just another Panasonic.
Body from RX1, grip from NEX7 and EVF from...? I am sure this is a fine camera but the design is real baaaad! The same goes for OM-D line (slightly better)
Justin Francis: Jeez, can a camera be any uglier? Why can't they make it more like the OMD?
Yes, it's ugly but OMD is not exactly a winner here...
Yes, the new king of superzooms, even if pricey...
The point is...by suing SAKAR Nikon tells people there is also Nikon 1 camera on the market (since nobody knows it...)
What is the age limit to become an astronaut? I have to see it on my own!!!
Great IQ for less money, sounds good to me.
Look fine a and it''s for a good cause. So, what is starting bid, $30,000.00?
qianp2k: I like Canon S-series colors and IQ in general from perspective of 1/1.7" sensor size. However personally I will not buy another S-series compact. My S95 suffers that notorious lens error second time (the lens gets jammed and unable to extend). This time Canon refused to give another free fix and it doesn't make sense that I would spend $170 for a fix. This lens issue that I believe on flaw designed lens assembly is pretty common in S-series cameras. The issues in both cases developed by its own not because of any abuses or drops or squeezed. I just bought on unbelievable $399 deal of EOS-M with 18-55, 22 pancake and 90EX flash last night. That's my new replacement of S-series camera. Bigger and heavier but at least will not have this stupid lens issue, and can use my EF lenses thru an adapter.
I have S95 and it's fine, never heard of "notorious lens error". Got approximately 5000 pics, that means lens opened and closed 4000 times, since I take usually one shot at time....
Come on guys! This is a great camera!
Panasonic 14-42 power zoom lens had the same issue, right? Is it fixed?
I am having nightmares every time I see "the famous Afghan girl" Once more and I am dead....
f 2.8, 1/75 sec?
