My NX10 is looking better each day...Can't believe it, is it so hard to design a good looking camera?

On Tamron develops 16-300mm F3.5-6.3 superzoom for APS-C SLRs news story (211 comments in total)
In reply to:

samfan: Well if they can pull off a 16mm , why wouldn't they rather make a decent 16-100 or something?

All these superzooms are rather tiring. 'Either get a crappy megazoom or deal with prime lenses' seems to be a message of the day. What happened to good zooms with moderate range and moderate speed? Not pushing the envelope much lately.

I totally agree!!!

Retzius: I know all the Olympus shooters think they have something to complain about but you don't. At least Olympus actually creates lenses, announces them, release them, and continues to provide you with usable products.

Meanwhile, in Nikon land, we have been waiting for a wide angle DX prime lens for about 10 years or so. That right, not an improved lens or a better lens, just A LENS period.

Meanwhile, in Nikon land, we have been waiting for the D300 to be updated for about 6 years or so. Thats right, SIX YEARS.

Meanwhile, in Nikon land, this years updated camera bodies are the same ones from last year just without a OPF filter. The Liveview still focuses slower than an 80s camera, there is no live view histogram, you can't change aperture while shooting video because that would require a new part, and the viewfinders on the low and midrange bodies are like tiny tunnels.

If you want the right to complain, come to Nikon land. There is much to actually complain about :)

Yes indeed, Nikon sucks! They just redesigned 35mm FF lens after 25 years....

whtchocla7e: I like this camera and I will likely buy it to keep my tradition of replacing gears every six months. Anyone want a used A7R in mint condition?

And they will find out that at slower shutter speeds, it causes "faint double images" as reported on other webs....

JEROME NOLAS: I don't want FF any more. It's ridiculous what camera makers are putting on the table. This is a quick bang ($) from Sony. If you use Zeiss lenses you'll be fine. But hey you have four!!! lens adapters...and faint double images in A7R. Oh Lord, just scrap it and start with a clean sheet!

@Bamboojled-I couldn't say this better! That's what I exactly meant....

On Fujifilm teases upcoming SLR-style X system camera news story (921 comments in total)
In reply to:

photogeek: You can thank the stubborn US consumer for the resurgence of these viewfinder humps and huge camera bodies. Folks seem to think that if the camera is not the size of their head, and it doesn't hurt their neck, the image quality has to be worse somehow.

Personally, I think Sony NEX (models with a viewfinder) offer the ideal form factor right now. They're about as small and light as they can physically be without sacrificing the hand grip, tilting screen and built in flash. And that's the proper way to do it, now that we're not constrained by the the size of the prism and mirror box.

Sony lost the game. a) they have no idea what controls and how many direct dials average photographer needs...
b) somehow they think the choice of the lenses is just great...
Not a photographic company, just bunch of losers!

JEROME NOLAS: Pentax has the worst lens line up. The odd focal lengths, too slow, too expensive. Will they ever change? What's wrong with almost all lens makers(Sony are you listening?) At least Sigma tries harder!!!

I want 24mm (36mm eqv.) f1.8,so I can switch to Pentax... even if I am waiting for 20-40mm lens test...
