stageshadow: On par with d7000 and 5dmk2, nice details! Not bad at all!
oh really. need to upgrade your monitor. D800 and 645D are far superior here and put the other cameras to shame at low iso is you look at the areas where detail is to be found

Slatan: Do this: select RAW, iso 800, and click on the date on the blue clock where it says 15. Now, if you can't see the ugly blotchy jpeg-like artifacts on the d800 image, you need to see the medic. In fact, do something more: select iso 1600 just for the 5d2 and compare with the d800 iso 800 in the same blue clock zone. It will be about the same, so there you have it: 5d2 is one stop better, approximately.
You can also look into the pink - magenta zone, color chart, upper right. D800 has good details indeed, but it trails the 5d2 in terms of high iso performance, now imagine comparing it with the 5d mark iii - there's no contest here.
The D800 Raw images have not been properly processed. I have reprocessed them in NX2, and I don't know what DPR is doing here, but it is not right. They sample photos and test are often bad. Difficult to purchase a camera based on their tests. For example, look at their 5DII samples and if you can find any good sample, call me. They are soft. They use dodgy comparison tools. Second, it is clear, unless you need an eye implant, that the D800 raw files are significantly more detailed and matches in some areas the 645D. Is that normal? No, it shows there is something wrong with their testing procedures. I am not going to bother about the 5DII which is a dinosaur now. At high iso, there is little to see in terms of noise between 5DIII and D800. An incredible achievement considering 14 extra mp. However, I do think that the 5DIII jpegs are very good and this has always been a weakness of Nikon, but who shoots jpegs? Not the pixel peepers for sure who are comparing cameras on this forum

Not sure what people are looking at and if they are moving the mouse to different zones, but D800 Raw files are putting the other cameras to shame here and matches easily the Pentax, No question.

whawha: The Pentax 645D is in a different league, but I'm surprised at how well the Nex7 and Olympus OM-5 fare in comparison...
don't think so. not in raw for sure. very very close.

mau_horng: Nice camera. But the price ...
Canon 5D3 vs 5D2 vs Nikon D800:

Way too expensive for what is a refreshed camera.
