I had the DA35 f2.4 before and the DA40 and 70 are my lenses of choice
I foolishly sold my 2 weeks old DA35mm f2.4 when a local was unloading his pristine DA40mm Limited. Sometimes it still haunts...

For answers 1-4, the DA 35mm f2.4 ticks all the boxes and will not cost you an arm and a leg
The DA 40mm f2.8 Limited is one of the sharpest lens I've ever seen and used regardless of the brand and...

Have you held a K30 before? Fits like a glove but like you, not really a fan of the aesthetics :)I also use a K-r and is looking forward to a K5II or whatever comes next, still can't justify...

I think feeling where the AE/AF lock button is instinctive, never had to remove my eye of the OVF w/ my Kr

Yes, the K30 is worth it definitely. Nothing in its price segment is even close to what it can offer. If you can get a K30 with an 18-135mm WR, you are already all set to go. Even if the price of...

First and foremost, I own a Q + 01 lens but don't have the 02, I don't have the MX1 but have a comparable LX7.
From what I've seen, the Q + 01 lens is sharper than most of the MX1 shots I've seen...

The K30 is a really really nice camera, fast and accurate AF, fairly clean even at ISO1600, sharp because of a weak AA filter, large 100% coverage OVF due to a pentaprism vs a pentamirror and that...

Must be those Limited line of lenses. I love my DA40 and DA70 Limiteds and I love my Q + 01 prime even more, its really fun shooting with that camera and the IQ to boot.
Maybe daring to be...

Haven't noticed if the aperture level works even w/o a mounted lens, will try later once I get home.

Yes it does. 8 bit has around 254 tones vs 4000 tones of 12 bit, lots of flexibility with 12 bit and I just can imagine the 14 bits capability of the K5

Wow, I downloaded the photo (if you don't mind), just increased the contrast a bit (just a personal taste), sharpened a bit (I believe there is no need to sharpen the photo at its full size), it is...

If the video you mention is a black K-r that makes those weird noises, that definitely is not normal. Thankfully I never did encounter the same thing, sound like something is stuck inside that is...

Are you using the stock battery? I experienced the same problems before, the issue stopped when I started using the adapter with Eneloops

Hi,
I also use a K-r. I do still shot in JPG if the lighting is good or if I am happy with the output SOOC but shoot RAW almost every time since the K-r has plenty of headroom in PP.

Here in the Philippines, Pentax is still viewed as a premium brand by long time and new photographers. Their advertisements via billboards and broadsheet are getting visible and everytime I go out...

As far as I know, the DA40 and DA70 Limiteds will work just fine (will vignette wide open but Canikon FF does too) and , the DA35 f2.4 and DA50 f1.8 as well.
The DA50 f1.8 looks wonderful on FF
