On Canon EOS M Preview preview (544 comments in total)

Recently I decided NOT to wait for a Canon mirrorless and opted for a Lumix GX1.. I am happy now, I think I've made a good desicion. GX1 with its kit zoom is cheaper than this Canon, ultra compact with its new 14-42x lens, conventional/professional controls and the results are stunning. A camera I can carry in my bag.
What I expected from Canon was completely different, innovative and stylish. (Like a T90) A chrome/black classic design which is well suited to the retro fans (i.e.lomotics).

Still waiting for a mirrorless camera from Canon... Is it going to come out or not?

On Olympus shares suffer as former CEO goes on the attack article (193 comments in total)

"Combined with Friday's 18 percent fall (alltogether 24 %) the plunge has wiped out $3.2 billion in market value from the Japanese precision instrument and camera maker." This incredible amount: "$3.2 billion" indicates that there is stg fishy going on... The allegations are serious .. why is the well earned money is not going to R&D for better cameras but to overseas cosmetic companies? Is Olympus investing on non-shiny creams for better photos?

Interesting strategy from Canon:
Most were expecting a 5D Mk III (which is believed to have more fans, therefore more sales potential) but instead they introduced a new (or modified) big gun. 18 MP means the 21 MP 5D MkII will continue to sell like hot cakes in spite of its age.
After all this seems to be a sensible move as this product has put an end to the 1D & 1Ds and Mk confusion at the top of the range: a big X on them! There should have been only one "KING" on the Canon DSLR range in the first place.

Now the photographers are waiting to see a mirrorless camera from Canon before its too late...and where we shall be able to use our manual FD lenses. Do we have to wait for Canons traditional semi-annual announcements or will it come before that?

We really need a new announcement. This big "X" might have satisfied the Canon bosses and shareholders but not us. We need a smaller, cute "xxx" that we can buy and shoot and satisfy our desire...

The design of this camera is already a failure & this cheap looking shiny wood made it even worse..
