I think there's no clear recommendation.I have both, the 12/20/45 triple as well as the 12-50 zoom. Actually came the other way around, having the zoom first and then moved to the primes and find...

The size comparision images in this review are misleading. They are not scaled properly. The LX7 is a lot larger than the LX5. The images of the LX7 have to be scaled by about 106% to show...

Gorgeous shot, really nice! The softly masked background in the upper right corner looks a bit uggly though.

I agree, it looks ugly. Might not be the least ergonomical design, but not really pleasing to the eye. Technically it's quite a step forward coming from the G3, I think.
-
Am I seeing the Multi-Format sensor finally approaching the G series?
-
That's exactly what I'm considering now after this very positive experience with the Oly customer care.

Hooray! I've got my Cam back from Olympus Germany repair center. They changed the shutter, cleaned and tested everything, including the 12-50 kit lens (I sent in the entire kit). Now it's working...

What anoyes me is that the black bars are not really black but dark grey. I mean, it's an OLED. Why not save power by making it completely black when not in use?
-
Just got the answer from Olympus Germany Customer Care. They are not aware of this issue yet, suspecting something with the shutter and are asking me to send the cam in.

Yes, this is exactly what I'm thinking. But looking at this picture it's quite strange as I'd expect the shutter curtains to run vertically, not horizontally, right?
Edit:
I was too slow, You...

One more thing to notice is the not quite uniform underexposure in my second example. Do you see the shade to the right?

No AUTO Gradation.Complete manual control. All set manual (F, Time and ISO).What should be the value of processing the images differently in LR? Sure, I would be able to push the exposure up for...

It's not the RAW converter. And it's also not the metering.
Here's my last test. JPEG SOOC.First image F6,3 1/4000 ISO1600 (Yes, I removed the cap before!):
Second Image F6,3 1/4000 ISO1600...

Just did the update to 1.1.No difference. The same issue is still there. I'm going to send my E-M5 back for repair nao. Hopefully this issue gets recognised and fixed by Olympus soon.
-
You lucky guy. Just noticed that there's a 1.1 firmware available. I'm still on 1.0. Will try the update before returning the cam.
-
Faster than 1/1000 I mean, not slower of course.
-
Let me guess: Exposure times of this under exposed images are faster than 1/1000?Than we have one more of these:

I have the exact same issue. The first image of a series with shutter slower than 1/1000 is almost allways underexposed or even black. The next one is better or good. All following are fine.Look at...
