No, in A and S modes, the Panasonic Auto ISO is relatively smart. In A mode, it'll allow the shutter speed to drop to either 1/60 or 1/(2x focal length), whichever is faster. In S mode, it'll...

Unfortunately not. It's a feature that is at the top of my wish list. As a result I often find myself manually setting ISO in aperture priority, to ensure my desired shutter speed or faster.

The G6 adds, among other things:
New metering system (1,728 section grid, vs. 144 section grid)
Improved in-camera HDR mode (now user-adjustable)
Faster AF (240 Hz vs. 120 Hz, with the few lenses...

That was exactly my conclusion with the G5. Probably cost me an extra $30 for a 32GB card.
-
Where you're most likely to need such speed, to avoid or reduce constraints, is if you utilize burst mode. If you use burst mode, I'd suggest getting the Extreme Pro. That's what I use in my G5. ...

At Amazon, it's selling for $499 with kit lens, and $448 body only. The G5 has been offered, at least on and off, at cut-rate prices for a long time now (I got mine from Amazon, with kit lens...

Sure, glad that was of some help. Yes, there is some very limited control (but again, I believe, at least in the case of aperture, it may be overridden by the camera if necessary). It'd be nice...
-
Positive. I can definitely vary aperture in iA and iA Plus modes (for both stills and video). The camera will not show the aperture once recording begins, but the depth of field slider remains...

Base ISO dynamic range certainly differs significantly.
The GH2 sensor has been out a lot longer than 12 months. Over 30 months now.
-
My experience and reading of the manual seem differ somewhat from yours.
The only control over shutter speed that I know of is via the flicker control setting, which is only available when in a...

The GF6 doesn't have the new sensor. It uses the G3/GX1 sensor (a different old sensor).
-
The G6 and GF6 also support wireless flash.
-
It's arguably a somewhat better sensor than the one in the GF6 (which is based on the one in the G3 and GX1). The G6 includes the sensor (perhaps somewhat modified) used in the GH2 and G5. But...

The focus on the shot with the 14-45 is significantly behind the head of the ornament. Note that the tail of the ornament and the bowl are far more in focus than the head. I wouldn't fault the...
-
Seems very doubtful to me, given that the G5 moved the GH2 sensor's score by a mere 1 point, which is essentially in the noise. If Panasonic did somehow eke GH3/OMD performance out if it, I'd...
-
I agree that it's bizarre. It's been the case with the G5, at least at Amazon, for almost its entire run. Obviously it makes sense to buy the model with the lens and then sell it (assuming you're...
-
As a former G2 owner, I'd say it's better than most point and shoots for noise performance, but not dramatically, particularly given the sensor size differences. And the dynamic range is quite...
-
It should be obvious. G6 is fifth-generation camera, using a second-generation (GH2) sensor. G5 is a fourth-generation camera using a second-generation sensor (also from GH2). Same sensor has...

Actually, the 45-200 would be the closest option.
Activity older than 12 months is not displayed.
