I think I would have said for a department camera, just get a superzoom - these days, the Panasonic DMC-FZ200.
All the zoom you need, not quite all the wideangle you need in a smaller, simpler...

I don't see the justification for thinking that aiming the camera differently to choose what to include/exclude once digitally zoomed is any different from sliding the cropping area around in the...

Why do you think 32-bit CS will stop working?

Next time you cut and paste an article, you may want to search for the old model - I don't think a preview or specs of the G5 is what we care about.
-
While I think that should have been "you will need an f/1.2", the other point is still correct. On a FF camera, raising the ISO one stop over the APS-C camera will give an f/2.8 the same shutter...

I think Photoshop is probably overkill - I would suggest Lightroom. If your picture needs more than LightRoom, you are approaching creating art rather than photography.
You could also consider Nik...

But on a FF you can just go up one stop in ISO to get the same shutter speed or be down one stop in ISO to get lower noise. There is no exposure advantage over FF with this lens, just a final...

A Canon FF DSLT with a pellicle mirror with a Nikon like DX capability so it can use EF-S lenses, with 64MP FF and 40MP APS-C resolution.
It would be based around the EOS 630 or EOS 3 control setup...

Without an understanding of light gathering equivalence, a naive camera buyer may think that the APS-C camera that has an 18-35 f/1.8 available is a better purchase than a FF camera that's fastest...

With the Sigma 24-70 being about $825, hopefully this will price about the same.

I don't think comparing a 6D to a 7D is very fair - try comparing the 6D (cheapest FF) to a 60D or T5i and the realize the street price for 24-70 is running $1800 - $2000 and you see the APS-C...

Does no one remember that FF has a large noise advantage versus APS-C at high ISO? if you are shooting your APS-C at ISO 100, you can shoot your FF at ISO 225 for the same noise level - but now the...

Just use a 24-70 f/2.8 at ISO 200 and be happy, though I hope at a more expensive price.

That would be the FF equivalent focal lengths...

For high ISO pictures, the noise will be higher for a given picture (I.e. equal perspective) in DX mode than in FX mode - consider the same proportion of pixels will be noise (I.e. meaningless) but...

But the Canon and Nikon 24-70 are around $2000 street and no FF body is as cheap as an APS-C body. So the setup will still be $1k cheaper at least, and possibly more.

And by 35mm (equiv), its an f/2.8 while this is 1.8 past 50mm - if it is low distortion/ca it could be a prime competitor.

I'm in the same boat, and your post makes me wonder if now isn't the time to get the 7D (clean high ISO (astrophotography) and high speed (e.g. VIR is nearby) are worth the current 7D price to...

I think in the respect that the 7D can make keepers out of situations the 50D can't (such as high ISO) it helps the beginner (or average) photographer much more than the expert as well as expanding...
