Absolutely the LED flashlight! They are getting very powerful, last forever, and you can put an orange gel over them to warm up the light.
-
I'd add some gaffer tape, not a full roll, just a few pieces.

Suggest immediate itinerary change --
Forget Yellowstone. Arrive in Las Vegas. See Boulder Dam. Drive to southern California via Death Valley. Drive up the Pacific Coast from San Diego to at least...

Yes, didn't they make one? Or maybe that was for one of those Sigma Foveon cameras. Somebody, anyway, got carried away and made a wood body recently.
-
Gee, you mean I can't get a Sigma 1.4 adapter for my Leica S? How the mighty have fallen, indeed.
-
Zerg, you could do worse than a used VW Phaeton sedan... absolutely great quality, inexpensive now. Or, if you could bring yourself to stoop to lesser V-8s, a used Cadillac XLR roadster. Great...

More than just a toy. Bought one a year ago, gaffer-taped a Hoodman loupe on the back, and found it just excellent for architectural photography. Best return-on-investment ever! Works perfectly...

So true! Sorry for the rant. I'm retired now, but business cases like this make me want to jump back in... at least as a consultant to Ricoh. To either provide a US market promotional budget for...

Thanks Jon. Strange, isn't it... a very large corporation like Ricoh has ZERO presence in large camera stores, like Samy's, in our 20,000,000-person SoCal area. Go figure!

Where can I buy a GR in southern California? Does anyone know what stores stock this camera? Anywhere from Santa Barbara to San Diego...
-
Sounds like the fix is to buy a brand-new card, format it via the GR, and then use it only on the GR. Will remember this if I buy a GR this Christmas.
-
First impressions... what? You couldn't take it to a beach... or find a nearby swimming pool? Suggest breaking that test budget and rent a motel room... hit that pool... and see how it works in...

Waterproof? It'll sell in Seattle!

Sapple -- thanks for the tip... what looks OK on my Acer netbook might not work on other PCs with far better monitors!
-
LifeIsAVerb -- extra processing, only the moon. The cathedral image is the color pic from my RX100 turned into monochrome in Xara Photo & Graphic Designer. But no extra effects or HDR or anything....
-
Dennis -- the usual comment is that it should be moved to Disneyland... to Fantasyland, the magic castle kind of thing. In the daylight, going down the freeway, it looks too... small... for the...

You're all too kind. Look, this building just carries itself, photographically. And the view from the parking lot is across the freeway from it and elevated, so you don't get perspective...

RX100. Last night, the Mormon Cathedral in San Diego. Moon via Xara Photo & Graphic Designer. If you're in town, find the California Pizza Kitchen parking lot, off Nobel Drive west of I-5. Stunning...

Thanks all for the comments... particularly that the cost would be too great as he whole LCD screen would have to have so much more resolution.
Oh well. Was just hoping the my shirt-pocket RX100...
