Karl, I'll try a faster shutter speed, like 1/640, but I don't think there will be enough light, even at the RX100's f/1.8. But I'll give it a try. Other way  might be to have one of our surfer...

Doesn't the sensor size determine how much light it can gather? As for DOF, you're right, the smaller the better for maximum DOF.

Oh, you're absolutely right. But for me, interested in low-light photography, my problem's the other way -- keeping as much DOF as I can get without too much noise.

As an aside, an watching John McEnroe right now on the US PBS Charlie Rose show. Still sparky!

I'm starting to think that cameras with a 1" sensor may be just right for low-light photography... that magic tradeoff between DOF and image quality, when the lens is wide open but you still need...

Here's another one... cloudy today, but sky area is still very bright. The 4X still works fine, giving an image that is easy to balance light & dark areas in a bitmap editor... I use inexpensive...

Back to the colors -- guess I can't order the K-50 with a matching-color 18-135 WR lens? Unless I'm wrong, the only color-matched lens is the 18-55 WR?

Well, if I ever move up from my K-01 to a DSLR, that K-50 with the 18-135 WR looks like a sure bet.

I like all the color choices, too. As long as they only make pink ones for the Mary Kay ladies!
