I just returned my X-E1 back to Amazon. It is in mint condition. I used it for 1 week. Reason for return is that I just can't live without an OVF. I am still debating on a X100s or X-Pro1.

Also, if you shoot raw, PS will remove hotpixels automatically, so you won't even see it..

I would recommend you try another copy of the 16-35.  I have not seen any softness in the corners at all.  Actually, it is much sharper across the whole frame than my 17-35.

Short answer : NoThe AF illumination will only light it up when you 1/2 press the shutter to show you which focus point was selected.

I don't use the V1 much for high iso since I do not like the noise from the sensor.. Iso 800 is about as high as I would ever want to use the V1 for.. but here are a few at 800 and above..
