skytripper: To: Fuji Naysayers
So what do you folks do when you get tired of trashing the day's news—go home and beat your dogs?
@skytripper Dont you have anything better to do than whine about people who are unhappy with a defective camera ?
Indulis Bernsteins: The Fuji "cover up" and spin continues- there is no official word on their global web page (or the Australian web page) about a sensor replacement for the X-10. So I have no confidence that the replacement will be offered in Australia. Am I supposed to buy the defective camera, then hope that I get a letter?
They should of issued you a ref number when you booked your X10 in for the sensor change , they do that here in the U.K.
SergeyMS: I see that difference is not big (with orbs and without). I consider X-10 as a brilliant camera, and don't recommend anybody to renew firmware or sensor.
Sergey !! get your eyes tested. .
lajka: Everybody`s babbling about the sensor technology and Fujis let downs and the duds bought and so on. The truth is, ask Alex Jones, that it is an invasion of WHITE ORBS under way and every sane mind would see it. In case you don`t know what White ORBS are, I`ll reveal that much, that it`s a kind of zombie syndrom inflicted by the NEW WORLD ORDERs ILLUMINATI executives on the gullible population of slave consumers. The most common signes are the eyeballs white orbing when, for example the customer realizes that his newly bought 1K$ cameras sensor´s blooming while his bloom tree`s not. . It`s a worldwide conspiration connocted on mt. FUJI and relayed throught mt.Olympus to the mt.McKidding. Get rid of the WHITE ORBS. Put the film back on your eyes and start to SEE!
They probably dont shoot scenes that produce orbs , but remember ALL X10's are the same and affected. If they were not Fuji would not be changing the sensors. You have just been lucky .....so far.
Hooray for sanity !! have a good weekend Kim !!
Yep , thats two things to consider now Crash.
Hey Crash . The XZ-1 would trounce the X10 in low light . It has a f/1.8 lens . I think you selectively forget other cameras .
ebbo: You may not like Fuji bashing but it’s got Fuji really moving on this sensor issue.
In pre internet days Fuji or any other manufacturer would have gotten away with an issue like this almost completely, no magazine carrying Fuji advertising would have mentioned it or shown it. The only place it might get a mention is at photo clubs, meanwhile, Joe public would blithely carry on. All power to the internet I say and manufactures be aware…
Yeah its a bit scooby doo really !!
Can see Fuji as old Mr Wilson " I would of gotten away with it to , if it were'nt for you meddlin kids" lol
mauro paillex: No problems with white orbs.!! Iìm a photographer not a scientist!!
a short sighted one ?
Dennis: Would really like to see Barney Britton (DPReview) to take a "pre-production" sample in (as with lots of other new cameras) to do a preview of the revised sensor at some point during early May. It would be a great DPReview followup on this, and I think Fujifilm kind of owe us that kind of openness. Please barney, could you arrange for that?
Exactly what i'm waiting for.. good job.
Mac6768: I have just telephoned Fuji Service Centre UK and spoke to a very polite gentleman regarding the new sensor in my X10. At the end of May (aprox) Fuji will send me a pre paid box to place my X10 in, take the box to my nearest Post Office, Fuji will replace the sensor and the camera will be sent back to me, No charge to me whatsoever. Thank you Fuji.
I got exactly the same reply when i phoned half an hour ago. Gives a little confidence .
I am actually still feeling pretty sceptical . I wouldnt advise anyone to buy an X10 until we see others posting here in May claiming success. There may be unseen issues and the new sensor may be scrapped and instead a new model rolled out !! Thats my fears .
Digitall: Today will be the X-Day Mystery! Drums and lights please...
Drums ok, but leave the lights off, X10 dont like lights !!!
Anyone else getting sick of all this wait and see Fuji mystery ? first it was the firmware and now who knows what... why dont they just say what they know and not keep everyone watiing for a date to announce it on. Grrr
night shooter: Oh, no! is Fuji going to discontinue the X10? ;-)
@ night shooter Hopefully , because selling a faulty camera without warning prospective buyers beforehand isnt very smart at all is it ? They knew about the problem from the start and let it go !!!
SeeScape: No Blooming or White Disc problems with my X10.I am a scientific.biological photographer with over 36 years experience in cameras, optics, macro, micro and digital imaging systems, etc. I have followed this discussion and have owned an X10 for several months now, as a walk around pocket camera. I have not had a blooming or white dics problem, nor have I been able to create the problems if tried. I have extensively test the X10 against my main Canon 5D Mk II and Canon 40D with a variety of lenses and in many low light and super highlight situations. I have no more blooming with the X10 under extreme conditions than with the DSLR Canons. Otherwise the X10 is a great camera, vey well made, good exposures, great sharp lens and excellent IQ. So, I guess I am a lucky SOB or perhaps some of the X10's made it though the quality control gate in good shape. I will be interested to see how the 'X20' compares.
Maybe yours isnt a Fuji then because all Fuji X10's orb - period. Its how they are made . Unless you are a Fuji engineer and made your own sensor !!
@SeeScapesorry but Fuji havent fixed or released any non orbing X10's and yours will in the right conditions orb just as good as the next.
Valentinian: This guy nakeddork never heard of freedom of speech?
He has freedom of his own now, he got banned. lol
nakeddork: The x10 is a great camera, it's just out of some people's league.
To fully utilize the x10's advanced features one has to have a firm foundation in photography.
I definitelly don't recommend this camera for people learning. Get an entry level DSLR instead.
The x10 is a point-n-shoot best suited for the advanced photographer or person with a lot of disposable income that uses the auto exr modes.
you were doing quite well for a while there Dorky boy.... but i'm guessing i have more money than you . I take 4 months paid vacation abroad each summer , can you afford to do that dorky eh eh ???
Doesnt work with XP !!! Booo. May have to finally install Windows 7 . Been sitting on my shelf since october 2009, lol.
