Henry Richardson: I guess charging an entry fee seems to be the norm for photo contests these days. It is just a money making scheme for magazines and organizations which I choose not to participate in.
The entry fee is $15 and contestants can submit as many images as they wish.

Plastek: Brilliant camera. Puts the point of mirrorless existence in doubt now. Especially when it comes out that APS-C compact with excellent lens is smaller than m4/3 or 1" mirrorless with a lens.
@ bobbarber do you go around calling P&S cameras mirrorless too?.....

The Mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera (MILC) is a popular class of digital system cameras. Unlike a compact digital camera, a MILC is equipped with an interchangeable lens mount and unlike a digital single-lens reflex camera, a MILC does not have a mirror-based optical viewfinder.

Jon Legaspi: 750d will come out early next year to replace 700d, in marketing prespective canon just wanna have a new camera (model number game) in reality its just a copy of 650d. No fools will buy 700d (unless they dont have 550d/600d/650d). People will just take Nikon d5200 for an upgrade in same class! (very bad move by Canon). Canon should Watch out for Pentax, K-5 is a quality camera, even better than Canon 7d (check snapsort.com) and K-5 cheaper by 30%!
Canon will be spending the next year working out which font to use on the new badge.....

naftade: I will be interested in the kind of viewfinder they put in that thing. It's one of those features that are easily overlooked. If smallish mirror box means key-hole view finder, this camera certainly would not be for me.
The 100D has a slightly bigger viewfinder then the 700D: http://www.dpreview.com/previews/canon-eos-100d-rebel-sl1/3

mpgxsvcd: I can't wait for the 70D or 7DMKII. Or atleast that is what I keep telling myself every time Canon releases the same rebel camera with a different name.
You can have a 7DMkII now, just go get a 'Mark II' badge from a old 1D Mk II or a 5D Mk II and stick it on a 7D! then you'll be the envy of every photographer!!

Breaking news, owners of the 650D will be able to send their cameras into Canon and have it upgraded to a 700D They will change the badge, the top dial and change the firmware for $100 or for $200 you can get the 'deluxe' upgrade which includes a box upgrade and a 700D user manual.

David Naylor: Can't believe that Canon are pulling this on us. This is the 7th camera using the same old 18 MP sensor first seen in the 550D & 7D. That's like 4 years ago.
Someone contact Guinness, this has to be a world record!

RXVGS: WOW I MUST have this! 700D is the best thing since sliced bread! It comes with a brand new badge! I'm sure that will make me a MUCH better photographer!
Time to sell my 650D really cheap because nobody will want it now that it's obsolete and won't be capable of taking good photos anymore once the 700D becomes available!
It's called Sarcasm! Looks like someone needs a sense of humour upgrade.....

OM-D = SLR Style Built In EVF Styled like OM SLR cameras.
Pen = Rangefinder/film P&S type cameras styled like the old film Pen cameras.
YouDidntDidYou: Is that a new accessory also on the writing pad ;)

EssexAsh: The nikon D5 will always have to be online for it to take a picture
And when the new model comes out the D5 will stop working!
They'll start releasing Regional lockout to stop people buying grey imports soon.....
candleJack: What's a "nominal fee"?
It's 100% of the price!
Crimguy: This camera should be called the EOS 650D Firmware Update Edition™

I Wonder if Canon will be selling the 650D and 700D alongside each other in the new lineup?
