Well, focus magnification is not good at all. It's only 6x, worse than K-5 10x and much worse than a proper 1:1 magnification like the GH2. And this limitation makes focus accuracy not that great....

I also bought it discounted as a second camera to my K-5. The IQ is actually on par with K-5, the ergonomic is better than expected except for the lack of second dial, the quiet shutter is...

To call the 16-50 a miserable lens is a gross exaggeration. The Nikon 17-55mm is not THAT much better, only at f/2.8 on the borders it's clearly better otherwise it's a wash. Agreed that the lack...

Great Steeve, you certainly deserve it.

I have this exact combo since last year and I'm still impressed with the build quality. A friend of mine saved some money by buying a HorusBennu A8 (very close in specs to the N-2204, monopod,...

There are more honest people than you think but often the problem is that when you find some lost object there is no name or address to contact the owner... I once found an iPod touch and...

Because it's pretty common for compacts to sync flash at any speed due to their absence of focal plane shutter. That's also one big plus for the RX100. For example, a small m43 camera is usually...

Yes, if you read the RX100 designers interview, the lack of clicks was done on purpose to facilitate manual focusing. I like it that way too but I think the UI is a bit sluggish in the sense that...

They are certainly comparable. At base ISO there's not that much that will distinguish it from a DSLR even with a good lens. Of course at high ISO the DSLR is better and they can use better lenses....
-
Please define "standout" for me. English is not my native language but if the RX100 is not a standout I wonder what is.

IMHO the percentage ratings are completely useless, I never even glance at them. These scales are too subjective. Even PopPhoto have better scales where you can actually compare...
-
Nice review but the decision to give it only a silver award is a bit weird IMHO. The fact that this is an unique camera in many ways with an unmatched feature set for its size didn't seem to have...

It's also maybe a reflection of the sensor. But whatever it maybe I also see it on most pictures where the sun is in the frame. This is where I prefer my DSLR and good...

Even with the 250 the magnification is not that high @100mm so I'd say the 150 is not really useful on the RX100.

Compared to a DSLR with fast lenses you're right, otherwise it's better than most compacts. I was actually surprised by the RX100 short DOF, you have to be more careful than with other compacts...

This is caused by the default JPEG processing. Other reviews have found that activating DRO was helping a lot to achieve a better DR without impacting IQ too much.

Any camera (even a DSLR) would struggle to meter correctly this picture, the people on the picture have black or dark clothes and are in the shadow while the background is in the bright sun!An...

You're a funny guy :) Why are you so interested in Sony sensors? It's clear by now that Canon is much behind the (Sony) curve in sensor tech. What do you expect from an 1" sensor? ISO 400-800 is the...

Not on my copy at least. Blowing highlight is a matter of settings and metering, I did not find this to be an issue on the RX100.Do you have any example of "Significant rolling shutter" ? I cannot...

Nice Dimitri but the G1x lens is slower than the RX100 and the camera is much bigger. If I was to buy a camera as big as the G1x I'd get a m43 camera instead.
