Supposed to be new very compact Panny coming soon, your 40mm equivalent is a great walkabout lens.
-
Costs 1/2 as much
You can add a OVF on for lens like 23mm or 18mm and someone said Olympus VF1 might work with 27mm.
-
Buy the new A 1 with 16-50, makes for a good price on the lens. That 16-50 should be well suited for out in the field and you can leave the better 18-55 at home. Only $600 with lens and you can...

Lens tip has a positive review except for price, they it's 2x more than what it should be. Perhaps some other make even if you need adapter but then you lose small form factor.
-
Well the Fuji 18 is a pancake so edge performance suffers as is typical of pancakes. Center performance is quite good I believe. Obviously I picked 18mm for ease of comparison to GR and NikonA....

Stuffed lynx would be purrrfect !

The M 1 and A 1 should be tested with the 18mm f2 lens and tested against each other and other cameras fitted with similar 28mm equivalent lens. I would include the E-M 1 as this would just...
-
M1 and A1 have latest processor so should have enhanced performance over older siblings. X-E1 update should be announced next month, that will be top of the line till next Pro version comes out.
-
Should put 18mm lens on A 1 and M 1 and have shootout with GR and NikonA, maybe for fun add an equivalent 28mm to the E-M1 if want the smallest package add a 27mm to the A1 or M1 and have a sweet...

Go to visual science lab and see what Tuck says about 3000 and he uses Sony gear.
-
It would be great if someone put the 18mm on the X-M1 and X-A1 and compared to Ricoh GR,NikonA and 28 equivalent on E-M1 . That will pit APS-C against m43s and Xtrans versus Bayer.
-
If you don't want the Bayer sensor you buy the X trans in the X-M1 unless you buy Fovenon in DP Merrill.
-
I think this camera will do well. Personally I think 16mp for APS-C sensors is a sweet spot and would leave 24 and larger for FF sensors. I think having 2 basically the same cameras one with X...

All off the shelf parts assembled in Thailand.

Or 23mm for 35mm equiv or my choice for street 27mm equiv to 40mm which I feel is a nice compromise between 35 and 50 for a walkabout street shooter. Plus that 27mm will make the smallest package...
-
This appears to be a very complete camera in an affordable and attractive package at an entry level price that will have good still and video image quality.
-
Thanks for the VF- 1 tip.

Rico over at Fuji rumors had a pre production camera for 6 weeks he has 75 jpegs for view over at Fuji Rumors by a link in his article on the camera plus lots of samples in the article.
-
New X-E2 or 1s should be announced in October it will have all the newest X trans related gear plus the built in EVF, of course it is probably $500 more.
-
Big competition for Ricoh GR, NikonA, Sony RX100, NEX series and Samsung NX300. With the new 23mm this is going to even compete against Fujis own X100 and x100S.
Activity older than 12 months is not displayed.
