I am having good luck with the P 35-100 and the Canon 250D, which comes in 58mm and fits the lens. This thing is in my bag, whereas I might not carry a macro. You guys have reminded me I need to...

I have both these lenses with the E5. In a word these are among the best zooms ever made for the money. That said,, they focus very slow on the m4/3 to the extent that you might as well use the...

I also have the 12-35 and the 7-14 on the OMD. In addition I have the 25 and 45. In my last travels I used the 12-35 and 35-100 about equally. Walking around European markets the 35-100 is the...

You need the DNG Codec for the MAC. Here it is:

Well, I wanted the body only since I have lenes. However, in the States, Olympus kept running a special for the kit cheaper than the body only. Not sure about Europe.

My first step into m4/3 was the E-PM1. I bought a used one to see if I could live with it for travel as opposed to carrying the 10-12 Lbs. of E-5 gear and lenses when I traveled. It worked and I...

I just got back from a Foodie Adventure in Loire Valley with a group of 16 doing cooking as well as market shopping. I shot food with the P25 1.4 and took a look at the aperture I used after...

While I did not use the Nikon 16-85, I did use the comparable Olympus 4/3 12-60 (2.8-4.0). Both are great lenses in the sweet spot of photography and not replicated in the mirrorless world. ...

You could shoot RAW + JPEG and apply in camera settings, including art filters to the JPEG. Then you have the RAW if you really want to do something with PP later.

When traveling overseas I may have all the lenses in the suitcase, along with chargers and a backup E-PM1 backup. Then on the daily excursions, just take what I think I need. For example in urban...

Well, I am in my 8th decade. I don't smoke, but I love coffee and an occasional martini. I always travel with a tripod and a small monopod. Trust me, as you get older they are indispensable.
-
Well, I am certain the battery last longer. Since I never have it on for the tripod, I have nothing to compare. As others have said, Olympus recommends turning off IS on a tripod. Other camera...

Frank is right on. I too use the Metz and works quite well with Olympus flash trigger system.

I only turn it on when it is needed. Not sure it hurts, but would not remember to turn it off when using a tripod, and it does hurt then. Also no doubt it consumes more battery when it is on.

Expensive, but the P 35-100 is a great lens. You can get in cheap with a slower, but good image in the Oly 40-150/

Forgot to mention that Acratech also makes one, but more expensive.
Look at the Sunwayphoto models also. Not sure which for the OMD with battery grip. Either DPL-04 or DPL-05. I don't have a...

The Kirk Universal (maybe the tall model) will work. You just put one of the Acratech plates on the camera. A little bulky for everyday walk around use, but fine for studio work.
-
I see you have the RRS L bracket. Would you want their grip with this for the 75-300mm?

I went to Morocco a few years back and lost a charger during a storm due to power outage and surge. Since then, I always have two chargers when traveling. I got lucky on that trip as it was late...

To me a backup is used in an emergency - your OMD fails for whatever reason. Now if you want a second camera to carry around in your pocket, that is a different matter.
For a backup another OMD is...
