i just got a 5dm3 and coming from my 7d, i thought the 5dm3 pics were darker too (well, not thought, they are!).you might try your bathroom/shells experiment WITHOUT the flash at all and see if...

eye-fi doesn't support sd-to-cf adapters and there's endless reports of problems. too bad and hard to believe no one makes a cf wifi card.

have watched that first video 4 times and have no idea what it's showing. what's with the whole video going blank/black a couple of times?
