Adobe stated they will still keep CS6 around. But new updates will be CC only.
-
I haven't seen the net down in a long time, but I have seen: - companies that block non-HTTP access to external servers (for example it was a nightmare to get updates for CS6) - clients or...

GIMP is a very good and mature graphic editing tool. However there are no alternatives to InDesign and/or Premiere. At least not at such a mature state that agencies and clients routinely use them.
-
I can tell you from first-hand experience that professional users of Photoshop (and InDesign) did : - upgrade rarely (I know agencies that are happy to use CS4) for monetary and compatibility...

Depends on how you use Photoshop: how often, how accustomed to shortcuts you are, and most importantly who is the target you are creating for.
As Dpreview is a photography forum, let's assume you...

For now Lightroom will remain perpetual licensed (buy once model).
However, already, Adobe envisions added "cloud" functionality. (see the dpreview interview...

GIMP is a great software if you need occasional photo editing. But for a full-time graphic or web designer Photoshop is more powerful. Also Photoshop/InDesign is the standard format when working...

I would really love if Sigma releases this lens also in Fuji X-Mount! It would be the affordable alternative to the Fuji XF 56mm!

After I bought the Fuji X-E1 I encountered the dreaded "buyer's remorse", and wondered if a newer body for my Canon lenses would have been a smarter choice.
But then I compared jpegs from both...

I would say the X-E1, with the kit XF18-55, is a good camera for someone who wants to learn photography. By using manual controls for shutter speed and aperture in a way it forces the photographer...

The optical viewfinders in both Fuji X10 and X20 are very good optically. The X10 is somewhat limited as there is no info presented in the VF. The X20 on the other hand has an optical viewfinder...

You should try the Lightroom 5 beta until the final version is released (I think June), and get that.
Price-wise I think it is a smart investment: you get a great photo editing tool and library...

Thank you for the review! I'm using a HTC 8S and I wondered if the 8X's camera might be better. Seems not by much, if at all.

I love the second photo!
Enjoy your new X100, it's a great camera.

A very thorough review. I find your feelings about the camera generally match mine.
As for autofocus speed - one of the "popular" shortcomings of the X-E1 - I just did a press conference with the...

As long as you fight the need to compose very tightly you should be ok.
Traditionally the 35mm is not a portrait lens, but for candid / street / setting portrait you can do some great photographs....

This was also the case with the XF 18-55. When I got the kit I had to upgrade the FW for the X-E1 and the lens. However the FW update process is pretty painless. And I prefer having to do FW...

But do those medium formats offer phase-detect continuous autofocus? Preferably on the film-sensor. And the noise at any ISO greater than 800 might be too much for most people...
I think that we...

Thanks for the comparison between the X100 and X100s! My feelings exactly.
The X100s is such a large upgrade compared to the X100 it feels more mature...

the rebirth of the Bigma, now in Fuji clothes :) ("Bigma" was the unofficial name for the Sigma 50-500, a monster lens)
Activity older than 12 months is not displayed.
