  • Submitted a challenge entry Trying the Old Man
Watching the interactions between two these two great apes at the St. Louis Zoo, was fascinating. The older male had sat in deep thought for a long time and then he started his walk across the enclosure. The younger male started moving fast in his direction. They met with much force, then it was over. I didn't see any clear winner, but they seemed to have an understanding.

  • Submitted a challenge entry Chicago Skyline
Taken with first outing when switching to Sony. Shot with the A850 and Sony 50mm f1.4 lens just past the aquarium near the lake. I was amazed by the detail I got from this camera and lens.

  • Submitted a challenge entry Salt Creek Falls
Salt Creek Falls in Oregon. I'd never heard of it and found it by accident when driving from Portland to Reno, NV. Beautiful area and what a surprise when I parked and took a stroll.

  • Submitted a challenge entry Grandmother and new Granddaughter
Candid shot of my wife and our new granddaughter. I had just put the camera away and walked back into the living room and saw this. I ran back to my camera and was able to take a few shots before she became aware of anyone else in the room.

  • Submitted a challenge entry Pure Love - Grandmother and Granddaughter
This is my wife and our first Granddaughter. She's about two weeks old. I had just put my camera away a few minutes earlier. When I came back into the room I saw this quiet moment of pure love. Ran back grabbed the camera and was able to snap a few shots before I was noticed.

  • I've had some wired remotes that have a little slider to lock it down for long bulb exposures.  I've pushed that lock many times when I didn't mean to. Just one other possibility. Regards, Gary Eaves
  • Submitted a challenge entry White, no, Muddy Water Kayaking
Shot at Missouri White Water Kayak race in 2012. Way too much rain a few days before and they almost canceled the event.
