cjf2: This was the winner for me. Perfect for the theme and an object of beauty. I think I'd prefer it with a bit more cropped off the bottom.

Thank you. I think this was the full frame version. When I print it I go to 4:3 and lose the bottom. I guess I should show the cropped version.

RuthC: Congratulations, Gary, on coming third in this challenge. This is a wonderful capture of the little cicada completing its lifecycle. Ruth :-)

Thank you for the compliment. They were really thick, in all stages of transformation.

I wanted to add, that I usually use my A850 for this, but shot a video for the customer and went ahead and used the A55 while it was mounted for this shot. I really enjoyed using the live view in studio.

VittoDigital: Beautiful idea and very well executed.
My personal winner, sorry for the low votes :-(

Thanks for the response. It was my first Grand child just a few weeks ago and they were gracious enough to indulge a new Grandpa.

Sudo Nimh: Nice portrait, but shouldn't it be rotated clockwise?

Thanks, but no, she was leaning over. The babies' head was almost on the arm of the chair she was sitting in.
Thanks again for the comment.

My Gorilla was disqualified, because the host thinks it a Monkey. Don't really follow his reasoning.
