By far my main interest are photos.
My lenses are Canon 15-85 and 70-300L.
What's making me lean towards the 70D is pretty reasonable performance at ISO12,800. Cleaning makes them very...
Let's put the 70D into the mix and allow for the price.
How would the T4i, 60D stack up against the 70D in detail?
Obviously interested in 70D (currently with a T2i).
Where does the 70D fit into this conversation?
The 60D may be more of a camera than the T4i. However, we're comparing older (60D) and newer (T4i) technology.
I realize the 70D is more expensive but...
Better focus and low light performance.
Those aren't just features.
THEY'RE HUGE features!!!!
I'm with Lemming.
My lenses are the EFS-15-85 and EF 70-300L.
I don't want to lose that extra 180mm on the long end.
I'm definitely considering going from a T2i to a 70D.
I've never been on a safari but I have shot wildlife in national parks: Glacier, Banff, Jasper, Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons.
I have a T2i and 70-300L lens.
I always shoot in Tv mode (jpg +...
I've never seen my ISO6400 look as good as that. However, unfortunately, when I need ISO6400 that probably wasn't enough so it's underexposed. That makes a big difference.
Don't get me wrong. I'm...
Very nice shots. Thanks for sharing.

The lenses are the 15-85 and 70-300L.
Many good points that will have me over at the camera store with my lenses trying the 70D for an extended time.
About BIF. Several years ago I went to a bird park with my 55-250 (since...
My daughter has a 60D (with a broken screen and replaced with a 6D)..''' hers and try it on my 70-300L.
The 70-300L is supposed to be a great lens. I changed it a few times and then sent the last one to Canon service and they changed everything inside. I just got it back but haven't really had a...
My T2i has over 30,000 shots. I'm starting to plan on an upgrade.
I was thrilled when my xt (350) was retired and replaced by the T2i. Much better high ISO performance. ISO1600 had to be cleaned on...
Some people go the zoo and are pretty stationery.
Other hike miles and have to be ready in various situations.
I recently took a trip to Glacier (MT), Banff & Jasper (Alberta) National Parks.
Getting very tempting though I was hoping for better high ISO performance than my 550.
Thanks for the response.
You are forcing me to consider the upgrade.
Four years ago I upgraded from an xt (350) to a T2i (550). The reasons were much better high ISO performance and the larger, clearer viewing screen.
Video is currently of little interest to me but...
Those are great shots. I think I'll rent a 70D for a day or so.
Weight of the body is also an issue (7D is very heavy) so I want to play with the 70D.
I go on hiking trips and carry a beast like...
A concern is the weight of the 7D. I go on hiking trips and that beast is very heavy. Carrying that around my neck for several miles may not be a good idea.
Thanks for the response.
I believe the T2i sensor was drastically improved.
I feel that ISO3200 if properly exposed is good enough for my eyes without NR.
But, as I wrote, high ISO performance is...
I agree that 1/2 a stop improvement for the 70D over the T2i is not enough to upgrade.
However, I'm also interested in faster / better focusing.
My lenses are a 15-85 and a 70-300L. I'm trying to...
