Rooru S: Even if I love E-mount cameras...All I got to say about these new lenses (Except the 28 and the Macro is...) WTH with these HUGE LENSES.

Hope no.1: The macro doesn't extend while focusing and the lens has mechanical coupling instead of focus by wire just like the 28-105 F4 G OSS.

Hope no.2: The 28mm f/2 is the best bang for the buck and also has mechanical coupling. I would buy the lens and the converters inmediately to replace the SEL16F28 + VCLECU1 and VCLECF1.

Hope no.3: They quit making huge lenses with large aperture and focus on a best balance in size after these lenses. It wasn't necessary to make a 35mm f1.4, just a f2 like the one found on the RX1 series would be fine.

Meanwhile in A-mount, Sony should bring a 1DX/D4S competitor and D810 competitor. The a7R isn't good enough and I'm quite sure a a99 succesor should try to compete against it while bringing another model to compete against the D750 and leave the a7Mk.II against the D610.

Absolutic, Totaly agree! I have no reason to buy these Huge lenses! I just mount my canon lenses with af adapter, and even this way the combination is smaller!

Agree, but i guess you are not used sigma 28/1.8 or canon 35/1.4? The image quality of the both is superb!
In present days, Zeiss doesn't mean surely quality. Take a look at Sony FE 24-70mm F4 and Sony 16-70mm F4 they are soft at wide open. Compare to super sharp Sony made 20/2.8, 35/1.8, 10-18/4 or 50/1.8....

Here is the physics:
Sony 50/1.4 plus adapter Sony LA-EA1 = 70mm
Sony FE 55mm F1.8 = 71mm

And even the FE lens is f1.8???

Lets see the FF lens for 35mm DSLR
sigma 28/1.8 and canon 35/1.4 are same size
http://www.dpreview.com/products/sigma/lenses/sigma_28_1p8
http://www.dpreview.com/products/canon/lenses/canon_35_1p4

Depending of this, why sony FE 28/2 and sony FE 35/1.4 are not same or even close size?
Is this not the laws of physics????

I think Sony are too lazy to make new mirrorless design of some of the lens. They just get the A mount 35/1.4 lens put it in 30mm tube and voila:):)

marco1974: OK, so now we finally will have a 35/1.4... but it'll be the same size as the 24-240 superzoom! So much for the mirrorless advantage in terms of size and weight.
But oh, wait: we also have the more compact 35/2.8, don't we? But then the DOF and the total light-gathering ability is the same as that of a 23/2 on APS-c (which could obviously be much more compact to begin with). So much for the FF advantage in terms of DOF and ISO.
Mmmh, it seems that in spite of marketing claims, one just can't beat the laws of physics. Bummer.

@RStyga
did you test the 20/2.8 on FF nex?

Zeisschen: It seems some people expect Sony to catch up to DSLR mounts from 1987 (Canon EF) and 1959 (Nikon F) in less than one year in lens selection, otherwise just whining and complaining... Looking at their own shelves those people probably look at 2-4 lenses they actually bought from which they use 1 lens 90% of the time on their bodies. Still enough to complain about this rediculous Sony who doesn't fit their needs because they only have around 50-70 lenses available per mount.

Some of the best photographers used just one length all their life, and that how they became good.

Today it seems noone can take pictures anymore without F0.95-F1.4 primes and F 2.8 zooms. Those must be really be bad times today for photography...

Fuji make it, for a couple of years they catch almost the same line as the Canon or Nikon. Without meaningless or recurrent lenses.

plamens: Except 28/2 all of the lenses are HUGE!!
The main concept of the mirrorless is the small size, but with these HUGE lenses..
Absolutely meaningless!!!
They are even bigger and heavier than the same DSLR lenses!
Sony, please consider to make small lenses, like olympus, panasonic, fujifilm and samsung stuffs!
That because I would not buy any of them!
Maybe except 28/2:)

What nonsense?
The highest HD tv broadcast is 1080i (1920×1080p), HD 1080i movie, even compressed is at least 10 gb...
So compressed HD 1080i movie will be 160gb, uncompressed at least 640gb !!!!!!!

Super meaningless test footages(as usual), i can't get an idea of the quality of any of the lenses!
35/1.8 is portrait lens, give us photos of people on f1.8
10-18/4 is super wide, give us photos of buildings, streets

Pleaese, make useful pictures!
