At f/8 diffraction kicks in. Is this the only reason the photo is not sharp?
Where is the lower left photo from? Looks like an unusually dramatic location. Is it real?
RuthC: Wasn't this supposed to be a 'Lace' challenge? Not a flesh and (almost) nipples challenge? I freely acknowledge that I'm an older lady, and so have different values to younger males, who are the majority of the entrants and voters here at this website. However, I wonder how many of you who think this is a great shot would be comfortable seeing it on your young daughter's bedroom wall, or on Grandma's wall? Double standards perhaps?
My Grandma (born in about 1916) would not have seen anything bad about this. From my childhood I remember the Japanese completely nude and very beautiful girl in a calendar (no full frontal nudity, though, if that bothers you), photographed in very good taste and hanging on the wall of my grandma's bedroom, and later she painted nudes herself (in her naive style), including a shepherd girl with a bare breast she had hanging from the wall at her place in a prominent location. This is not a question of age.
Well done. Also, at the technical level, the DP1 sensor handles the challenging light very well.
Paulo Matos: Congratulations! Can you please tell how is this effect achieved? Thank you
Looks like standard HDR/tone-mapping to me.
There is an interesting texture in parts of the picture (if you pixel peep.) What program did you do this with?
